New base (made from components from FL) - jcolwell - 09-23-2009 For a single model maybe, if someone could work their magic with the .ini files (i can't do that, Trust me, i have tried) then would it be possible? New base (made from components from FL) - Dab - 09-23-2009 We don't add any unnecessary models to Discovery. It makes the mod much bigger. Model files are what contributes the majority of the size of the mod, and we don't want people to have to download a half-gig just to install it.. The base you made can be done entirely by using base models. FLE gives a very helpful hand to doing that. However, Livadia isn't meant to be this amazingly-impressive station. It's a shipyard, nothing more. It isn't made to look nice, it's made to build ships. Zoners don't really put a lot of effort into artistic designs. They spend most of their effort on functionality. New base (made from components from FL) - Denelo - 09-24-2009 I'll repeat what Dab and Seth have said here. Bases aren't made as models; they're made of multiple models all stuck in space and positioned so they look like they're all one big thing. The models are then "linked" to the main base so it selects the base when you click on them. It's done, as Dab mentioned, mostly in FLE, as doing it in the INI files'd take a ridiculous amount of time. As I already have your Skype anyways, poke me some time and I'll walk you through it. But as for changing Lividia, that's Dab's system, so no messing with it. In general, you don't mess with systems modded by other people unless the owner of aforementioned system asks you to. Omicron-74 no longer has an owner, but Dab's old faction originally owned it. It remains his. |
