Once again - Kusari - Athenian - 09-23-2009

I was in Kusari and its wonderful border systems last night for about an hour, during which time I managed to
a. persuade a Cryer ship to give me a new pet, a Gaian lizard
b. chase a mercenary for being a rude and cheap
c. extort cash from three separate trade ships, all of whom roleplayed and dint try to squirm away
d. force a FA transport to drop his cargo of military vehicles and then warm his heels back to his hovel

It may not be New York, but it has its moments.

Nice guys!

What I think we need to do for Kusari to get active (unlawfuls, lawfuls particularly, traders already rule) is to get some sort of event going up. Something re-occuring? As in, now, not later?

I dunno, perhaps the KNF will stop camping Leeds just for the weekly events, and start patrolling their core systems aswell. Because, you know, whenever I log on my NPG, there's absolutely nobody to interact to. Also, it struck me how, whenever more than 2 NPGs log on, the KNFs log out? (And shortly log back in when there was only one of us). What's up with that ?

Personally I would hate if Kusari ended up like Tau 23. I mean, constant fights are no good.

@teschy: Coincidence

I think one of the reasons why its so daunting for new people (and people not so new) is because the political situation is so complicated, i mean knowing which criminals and semi-lawful groups you can and cant kill in different situations is a pretty daunting think at first. Also its so confusing when you arent sure about how to react to a criminal or semi-lawful ship, he starts talking, even when i had a KNF char i didnt have a clue what was going on sometimes.

It seems kusari is a place where you have to know your very confusing RP inside out and one mistake will likely get you an OORP sanction. This, i think is one of the things that puts new players and even experienced players off going to kusari. In liberty, you just shoot all criminals, easy, in bretonia, you shoot all criminals except the outcasts, easy, in rheinland you shoot all the criminals, easy, in kusari you have to know when you can and cant shoot groups like the hogosha and FA and judge it perfectly or you will be reported for an OORP attack, not so easy.

For once, I agree with teschy (now we have to wait for him to agree with me:P)

But the main reason Lawful's don't patrol the core systems, is that unlawfuls don't get on. Unlawfuls don't get on because...

no.1, there arn't enough of us to get on at one time, or there are no traders/lawfuls about -.- (my experience)

I do think that an event would work?

Kusari, would also be a challenge to those who consider themselves of the best RPers on the server (not me, definatley not). Their RP is just about the most complex it can get - as is their culture.

I would also support (yes, I'm saying it, now everyone shall shoot me) outcasts and corsairs in Kusari. Its just about the only house they can both be in at the same time.

I can see why outcasts would go there, but why would corsairs?

We cant pirate or attack kusari trading and our artefacts are delivered to the hogosha in sigma 19.

This has some truth in it. Though, hopefully, now that the Aoi Iseijin have reached officiality we should be able to increase the activity somewhat more. Yesterday night alone we got three people to roleplay with us. good roleplay. Like Athenian said, it has it's moments. And thank god it ain't New Yoink. (Credits to panzer)

Corsairs are actually found in Honshu, as NPCs you know. Its just a suggestion seeing as Kusari is enemies to both the outcasts and corsairs. The Corsairs would probably use it for pirating turf, and possibly to get back against the GC and the Blood Dragons.

And helping their hogosha/fa allies... against the outcasts.

EDIT: And of course, the Aoi Iseijin would definatley help us. Unfortunatley, I believe in order to counter that, we need some sort of lawful group against them... (come on kempeitai, join us!)

If there was strong KNF faction... or at least KSP, all other Kusari inhabitants and unwelcome guests would have much more fun. But there never was such a thing, all former victories are pretty much display of one person being great at pvp. Since that person became inactive it is obvious that without him KNF just collapses. It cannot rely anymore on somebody always saving their asses, so they do not bother to come online either. So they need to change, start recruiting actively , training, teaching noobs etc. For that, they need good leader, like Malexa in Rheinland or Dieter in Bretonia.
