' Wrote:yeah... no idea how to do this with vista... help?
I have windows 7 and I did like for XP.
Win 7 is almost the same as Vista.
Just added -dx in target line on FL shortcut.
It works fine.
Only sometimes when I log in I don't see whole dock bar on top.
Just the icon for undocking.
When I undock and dock back.It's fine.
But it only happened few times so far.

I really enjoy it. Fresh installation is easier now. No need to change 5 or so files.

Also the cleaning effect for the chat is great.

Thank you, devs..:yahoo:

Windows Vista/7

Right click on the shortcut that you normally use to start Freelancer then click Properties (Shown by the arrow) like so;

You will get a form showing this;

As the above image shows, use the Target field (Shown by the arrow) to add " -dx" to get the game to automatically go to your Desktop resolution, so it will be the same size as what you use for the desktop. You can also add it in manually like in the picture such as " -d1920x1200", replacing the numbers with your desired resolution. Remember to have a space between the end of the shortcut target and the start of the widescreen parameters, like so:

"E:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -dx

Ok, so this works if I use the main link for FL.. but when I use the Mod manager icons, freelancer ends up messed up again.

Is there a way to make this work with Mod manager? or to set windowed mode?

This is attached to the shortcut, not the .exe that you use to start the game. Using mod manager will not use what is on the shortcut.

Also to set windowed mode you can add " -w" to the shortcut.

I have it working in windows 7 at 1920X1200. The foxv is still a little off and the font size needs to be dropped just slightly.

This version corrected a little of the "engine only" view but i think it is because the foxv is just a little different then I set it for the previous version.

I'm getting a really odd problem with the new widescreen plugin. I'm running in 1280x800 resolution and I used to have widescreen enabled via tweaking the PerfOptions, cameras.ini, and fonts.ini. I've restored the cameras.ini values to default settings and activated the -dx command, and everything seems right except my FOV in cockpit mode is noticeably greater than in chase view. This is really disorienting and flying in cockpit view feels like looking through a fishlens :crazy:. Here's an example:

That's with the chase cam. Notice that the sun is cut off on the left. Now in first person view:

Now I can see the sun fully.

Any suggestions?
