First, i would like to point out that this is not flood anymore. second, this is not about how he wants to make his credits, it is about how we treat other players. Here's Some Food for Thought - Sprolf - 11-27-2009 ' Wrote:Oh yes. we're all wondering that Sprolf. I mined and delivered once. I junk now, if I happen to need money. Much more peaceful. Furthermore, DSE isn't involved in mining any more due to the error with Tremont's ring. All of these things you should already know, Bob. I furthermore continue to fail to see what exactly this thread has to do with mining. Why does everyone keep bringing it up? Stay on topic... Here's Some Food for Thought - Marburg - 11-27-2009 ' Wrote:Wrong. Real roleplay would be taxing traders for all their cargo, all their money, and then killing them. it would be the death of this server. you cannot have enjoyable player interactions without fairplay.your definiton of 'real roleplay' leaves alot to be desired. (i.e.- tis a bunch of feces IMO) 'real RP' as far as taxing traders goes, would be to plunder all you can carry but not entirely destroy your cash cow in a fit of short sightedness, as a pirate would hate to ruin his easy meal ticket just to grunt 'yarr' if you make a habit of destroying your money source, you will soon run out of money, & eventually starve & die. Here's Some Food for Thought - Bobthemanofsteel - 11-27-2009 Ah well, in response to pretty much everyone... That's not what I meant, perhaps I could of worded it better. In any case, forget I said anything. And now... I've forgotten the point I was actually going to make in response to your original statement. *facepalm* EDIT: Marburg gets me thinking; has anyone read the Seconds Sons trilogy by Jennifer Fallon? In that story there's a pirate name Jonas Quinn, I think. Something like that, anyway. Ah, but his code is never to take as much cargo as will leave the crew of the pirated ship without a profit. This way he can pirate them many times, without them getting an escort. I hate to bring this up again Sprolf, but it does seem to be the main issue of fair play. The old '10 mill or die'. Here's Some Food for Thought - Sprolf - 11-27-2009 How hard is it to stay on this topic, gents? I'd be pleased if we could, this is not flood, and I can't see why you all keep talking about mining and piracy. Here's Some Food for Thought - Skysurfer - 11-27-2009 ' Wrote:your definiton of 'real roleplay' leaves alot to be desired. (i.e.- tis a bunch of feces IMO) Explain to me why it's happening, then. I've seen it myself. Anyway... Back on topic, yes? I personally agree with Sprolf - being kind is a good thing, so why not do it? Here's Some Food for Thought - Marburg - 11-27-2009 explanation- as I mentioned: shortsightedness Anyhoo, I can remember the days of 'gentlemens rules' during engagements, but unfortunately, those days are long over & will never be revisited simply because of the larger size of the community these days. It'd be nice if we all followed the golden rule as we should, but it's too late for that now...there are far too many self-centered egos involved for it to work anymore as it should. Here's Some Food for Thought - Sprolf - 11-27-2009 There is always hope... at least within my mind. I play the Doctor - he still has hope, he's never given it up through everything that's happened. That's really a reflection on me, I suppose. Here's Some Food for Thought - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 11-27-2009 The thing is, pirates nor lawfuls are "fair" Lawfuls lolfleets constantly massacre that one little Liberty rouge Hyena. Unlawful lolpirates demand 10 million credits and then some. There is no such thing as "real" roleplay. Roleplay is what you make of it. "real" roleplay is actually an oxy-moron. the role you play is not real. Here's Some Food for Thought - Sprolf - 11-27-2009 Well, then, we can always start being fair. Being fair doesn't start with someone else. It starts with yourself. Whoever you touch when you tap your finger on your chest. That's who it starts with. And then it spreads. |
