Sigmas - Sprolf - 12-16-2009 Exactly, Thurgret! Discovery adds too much. We don't need to add anything to make the Sigmas more active. We don't need to add anything to increase activity. That's one of the common misconceptions people make all the time... On quite the contrary, it's entirely possibly to remove something to make it more active. "Simplify, simplify." Just adding things all the time does NOT fix things, especially in this case. Our path toward making the Sigmas active again is quite a straight one. We need to remove Eta. Sigmas - farmerman - 12-16-2009 I dunno, I like the Sigmas right now. They are pretty neat. The only thing that's really missing that was there in vanilla is some Outcast-Corsair conflict and artifacts on the Hawaii. The only thing that could really get mined would be h-fuel, and the GMG has a monopoly on that already. As to trade routes, there are several nice ones there, including the ever-confusing fact that some squatters in an abandoned tradelane-related station pay more for alien organisms than one of the biggest corporations in Sirius who use them large-scale on a project that really introduced AO to the sector. Also, aren't the Sigmas the only source of Nuclear Devices? Sigmas - Sprolf - 12-16-2009 I'm not entirely sure. They used to come from Newcastle, but that didn't make sense. (Thank you, Xoria, for taking them away.) Not sure where they're at yet. Sigmas - farmerman - 12-16-2009 That's what it seems to be since the most recent update anyway. It seems to make more sense than the random Newcastle thing before. Sigmas - Reacher - 12-16-2009 Really toning down some of the stuff would benift the area since it can be rather laggy at times...same with Beta. Honestly its GMG space and they need to be a bit more on the map to help revive the area. Also Outcasts sendign convoys through there into rhienland the to liberty might also help. But thats a bit OORP since we have no real reason to go there. Sigmas - Waratah - 12-16-2009 I think you just dont see many people because as i do , if i see sails in sigmas i switch to alternative trade route, rather than 6 mill or die. Sigmas - Friday - 12-16-2009 Apologies from teh GMG. We have been a bit quiet of late. I know that a couple of people are off for a month - and a couple more perhaps need a poke! I havent been on a Beta raid for a while and I am getting all jittery! I myself get on every afternoon...Australian Time. In terms of development of the Sigmas - I think there are a couple of things planned for 4.86, wont speculate though as I am not privy to the exact details. If I were to ask for something to be 'added' - it would be to create a flashpoint between the GMG and Corsairs, similar to the Omicron Beta flashpoint we have between the GMG and Outcasts (I think most OC are pretty happy with the interactions we have in that system). Another thing I would be interested in seeing is a permanent resort added around Planet Hiran for the OSC - reason being that its so much more peaceful there without Gaian raids and frequent visits from teh Hogosha. Something like a base with the Liner permanently moored next to it... As for H-Fuel itself. If there were a mineable 'ore' commodity it would be Helium-3 (the other main ingredient besides deuterium and normal hydrogen). And yeah - DOWN WITH ETA! I personally want the Hispanics tromping all over the Sigmas whilst we howl with outrage;) Sigmas - SMI-Great.Fox - 12-16-2009 I see the picture going to ways. Yes eta might need to go and yes its a little boring in the sigma, but look at it from how the game was first put up. I think it was supposed to be a quiet system, am I right? I also see that the trade routes currently in position in those systems still bring me in a good 3-9mil so no problems there. Sigmas - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 12-17-2009 ' Wrote:Exactly, Thurgret! And to force all lolcaps to move their fleets trough sigmas to alpha? Tell me how that gonna effect anything? You need trader / miner traffic in the systems, or you won't have anything there unless its a bettle front. Eta is a battlefront and actually almost no trading is done trough it. Sigmas are zone where skirmishes sometimes goes, but for right to pirate traders miners where outcasts, dragons and corsairs clashed there. Therefor gmg had a fun time trying to kick hispanian arses. Removing Eta won't help at all. Oh and if it will be removed, I think Corsairs should gain a new base instead of etna which would be closer to sigmas. Outcasts already have ruiz. Corsairs have nothing there. Doesn't explain corsair acitivity in honshu. Well yanagi of course, but agian using not your own base limits you. Sigmas - Tovig - 12-17-2009 Remove Eta. |
