To continue the Solaris discussion - Dab - 01-09-2010 Harcourt, when one thread is locked, you do not make a new thread to continue the discussion. This is the third time I've had to tell you that.. This will be the last time I give that warning. I will leave this thread unlocked for now, but it's on a very short leash. No spam, no insults, no flaming, no finger-pointing. To continue the Solaris discussion - Harcourt.Fenton.Mudd - 01-09-2010 Dab quit spamming, the thread was moving along just fine and peacefully without you. Oh, and its kinda hard to see a 'warning' when its just posted in a thread. PM is much more effective in actualy being seen ya know. ' Wrote:GB solaris turrets are kind of superfluous. Chainfiring your normal GB turrets is more efficient in the areas of dps and energy consumption. No one would miss them if the GB solaris turrets disappeared. For GBs, agreed, all they do is suck energy for sub-par damage. For crusier solaris, they get a rate of fire cut as well having practicly the same range as GB solaris turrets. The problem is that cruisers can move fast enough that when combined with the speed and manuverability of bobmers that quite often you will always be out of range execpt for only a few seconds at a time. Add in the fact that bombers have longer range than cruiser solaris and you have an unbalanced match up. For BSs, the primary problem is just like you said, size. Personaly I think the best solution is to make a custom faction defenseve turret for the larger BSs. this turret cannot be used w/o SRP outside of that specific BS. Then customize that weapon for that BS. To continue the Solaris discussion - Dab - 01-09-2010 ' Wrote:Dab quit spamming, the thread was moving along just fine and peacefully without you.
