Having a nova and a CD would keep the transports from ever getting away. Or allow me to have a CD and a sunslayer. So pirates have to work together but transports don't have to use escorts to avoid getting pirated? [sarcasm]A prime example of balance, right there. [/sarcasm] And Dab: For the record, I did search, but I didn't feel like going through a ton of pages of threads/posts that had "cruise disruptor", "torpedo", and "separate" in them. So quit being such an ass. Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - TankTarget - 07-08-2007 *sigh*....It's called! Cruise Disruptors! And throw on some wonderful class 9 and 10 weapons... in addition too! Gunboats. Guaranteed to WTFPWN your trader prey everytime! Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Qunitinius~Verginix - 07-08-2007 Tank is right! A Gunboat plus a CD = Dead trader. Or, as Tank and I showed today with attack some trader in RH, One Fighter with a CD, and one with a Nova. Works like a charm. I think we should find all the traders attacked by Wraith tagged ships and ask them if they got away. Its not like traders have a happy fun time. I can take one down in 5 minutes or less with my Wraith fighter. No Nova, just a CD. I've even traded in one of my Lugers for a Sidewinder since I'm always fighting bad odds against the RM fighters. Thats even less damage, and with guns that literially suck my energy dry. Don't try to act like pirating is impossible. I've funded both my Wraith and Kiretsu characters with nothing but startup money for ship purchase, and after that it was pure pirating profits. In fact, my Wraith was made right after server wipe. That one IS pure mission then pirating profits. My trader was made (A Container Trans, at 20+ million at the time) solely from pirating money made off of traders that were trading between Rheinland and Kusari at the time. Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Qunitinius~Verginix - 07-08-2007 He is right you know. A pirate who can dodge has a good chance of killing a trader. Hehe, even in the fight today, I almost killed the SSO gunboat AND that annoying trader with my fighter. My fingers were all over the place: Left Hand: -Pinky was on the shift button -Middle was on 'w' and 's' and 'z' -thumb was on '8' Right: -Mouse Pretty hard, i tell you. You need to be able to assign the Nova to a shortcut or something, like a torpedo. Can you fire the nova is 'ctrl + q'? Verginix Out Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Tortured_Soul - 07-08-2007 Just find out what mount the Nova's on, and attach that weapon number to Ctrl+Q or even just Q/E. Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Qunitinius~Verginix - 07-08-2007 Remember, Ctrl + Q is the fire torpedo button, so you wouldn't want to mix around with that too much. Verginix out Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Korrd - 07-08-2007 Well, if you need stopping power and torpedoes, why don't you team up with another pirate? One can carry the CD, and the other could carry the Torps... Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Intrepid00 - 07-08-2007 ' Wrote:Pretty hard, i tell you. Cruise Disruptor/Torpedo Hardpoint - Ant - 07-09-2007 I voted for the second option. Having a separate CD slot might resolve the issue of shield running complaints. If everyone can carry a CD, there's no reason to complain. Perhaps make the ships with a T slot less maneuverable than their counterparts without T slots. So you could have a selection of VHFs with a T and CD slot and the bombers with 2 T and a CD slot. |
