Ok, I checked HardCMP what is right. The Liberty Dreadnought HAS actually 20 (!) turret slots, but Discovery uses only 12. The Hardpoints Discovery uses are "HpTurret_L1_01, HpTurret_L2_01, HpTurret_L3_01, HpTurret_L4_01, HpTurret_L4_02, HpTurret_L4_03, HpTurret_L4_04, HpTurret_L4_05, HpTurret_L4_06, HpTurret_L4_07, HpTurret01, HpTurret02" (adapted from shiparch.ini), while HardCMP shows 8 more turret slots, as seen in this picture:

(I used Roman numbers here, because they are easier to draw:P)
You can see that the Liberty Dreadnought has 20 turret hardpoints, too good only 12 are used, otherwise it would be overkill

From the info here, everyone can see why the lib dread has only 12 turrets rather than 20.
Way too much power, everything would need a hull upgrading in next patch if all turrets would be used. Kusari Destroyer has like 15, me thinks, but only 9 of them are ever used:)Its all about balance.

I believe this was from the very first disco mod where RH battle ship had some thing like 28 turrets and all battle ships had nuts amounts of turrets though the osiras still only had 12:Pthen i was limited in later mods....I think who knows???

OK, I looked up the turret count in HardCMP for every Vanilla capship (except the civilian ones):
RH Battleship: 20 turrets
RH Cruiser: 17 turrets
RH Gunboat: 7 turrets
LI Dreadnought: 20 turrets
LI Cruiser: 7 turrets (!)
LI Gunboat: 7 turrets (this is the custom one, I took it so the list looks complete:P)
KU Battleship: 20 turrets
KU Cruiser: 13 turrets
KU Gunboat: 7 turrets
BR Battleship: 16 turrets
BR Cruiser: 9 turrets
BR Gunboat: 6 turrets
Order Osiris: 12 turrets
It could be that I made somewhere a mistake, so please PM me if you see any mistakes.

Everything looks acurate, but then again, I DID get the KUDE turrets wrong:rolleyes:
