It also brings to mind the use of "probes". A ship could send out a few probes around a system and constantly receive scan data from them. Of course, I'm pretty sure this would be utterly impossible to do. Still, I can dream. Like planet malta and ibiza base , and then omicron 80 genoa base, you could contect them by placing between ibiza and malta an Battleship and between Genoa and malta 1 fighter on each side of the jumphole with an battleship near base genoa . The Recon cruiser would probably have a similar magnification as the spy glass though. Also, I doubt scan range can be increased beyond the 9.9 K ship selection limit, and if it can, I doubt the devs here, or perhaps with any mod, know how. So this would just be an increase in the cargo scan range and wouldnt have a ton of balance issues, except that when a cap and interdiction ship are around smugglers might have to fly a bit farther away from them. I dont see this as being an issue at all really. |
