I dont think the admins will allow 10.000 cargo hold, do you?

Imagine :

"New guy comes"

LAWL!11!1 ZATZ A BIG ZHIP!!!!!!!

"Gets ship somehow"

LAWL!!!11 NOW ME CAN BUY BSHIP AND PWNZOR YOU ALL!!! LAWL.

*Ahem*

Its a good idea, yust not the cargo hold:)

I dunno what admins will allow, but pretty sure that transports with cargo capacity more than 5000 will not be included into Discovery in anywhere near future.

However, we do need more 4500 cargo transports. Right now there's only one, and other transport models we have (like Behemoth, or Gallofree) are too small to get to 4500.

A 10,000 cargo hold will speed up the gain of money = BAD.

But 5,000 is IMO for a supertransport not big enough, maybe something around 6,000-7,500...

But of course, me not Admin...

Ya, somewhere between 5 and 6 k.

My god, igliss is listening to us........

Hey dude.
IMO trains need to be toned down in cargo to around 3000. They are too agile and quick to be that big.
Armoured transport to around 2800. As it can almost take on a Gunboat.
Whale needs to be the biggest ship as it gives up too much to be that small (3500 cargo).
I like the idea of a mammoth transport. Make its cruise speed 350 and thrust speed only 50. If it can not traverse through trade lanes either then 6000 cargo should be ok.( No guns, lots of Hull, like a battleship, lvl 6 shield.) You get hit? you pay for the damage.

Am I the only one who flies the Behemoth? All I see out there in play are trains and container ships, once new players get the cash to buy them. This super transport idea might be okay because of the seriously crappy flying characteristics you intend, but I cringe at the thought of an even larger cargo hold out there. Single-system trade runs would need to be scrutinized.

A pipe dream of mine, which I'm sure is beyond the game engine... commodities that require specific kinds of holds/containers. Imaging a 20,000 unit Supertanker which can only haul commodities flagged as "liquid". Or consider modular ships that can mount passenger "cans" with life support for those 2500 people jammed in the hold; seems funny to pack passengers into a hold that just was emptied of H-fuel or Scrap Metal.:)

Ahem, the large train does not have a counter measure dropper. Sooooo, this massive transport shouldnt either.

Leviathan class Supertanker - Drake - 09-07-2007

A number of transports don't have CM droppers, including the Whale and the C-Tran.

Honestly, with anything less than a 6000 cargo hold this thing wouldn't be worth flying, at least not if it's cruiser or battleship sized.

Well, you heard it from Igiss himself, 5000 maximum cargo hold. So, make it 5000 and only slightly less maneuverable and able to protect itself than the L-Train. Give it the same shields as the L-Train, slightly less armour, less maneuverabilty, and maybe only 4 turrets. And no CM dropper.

No, then everyone'd fly it. it'd be the same problem as the L Train. Nah, I think that massive cargo and no defense whatsoever would be the only thing that'd solve the problem.
