I think this is a good question - tansytansey - 04-25-2010 ' Wrote:Barrel role has no function whatsoever in dogfights. Not true. The Rogue Destroyer has horrible turret arcs, its entire topside is one huge blindside. I counterbalanced this by using turret mode from the cockpit and barrel rolling to keep my belly side facing my target while I pounded them with Solaris. Worked quite well, killed 6 Barghests before I had to use any nanobots. I think this is a good question - Cawdor - 04-25-2010 It's only of use to hide your blind spot when being on a cap, really. 0 use for a fighter:( Also: DO A BARREL ROLL! That is all. I think this is a good question - Barricade - 04-25-2010 Ooh, thats truely a good question. I was wonedering about that to often:D I think this is a good question - kikatsu - 04-26-2010 leaves me to wonder why it only works in such a strange situation...I mean there must be come kind of coding restriction or something that makes it only work there, right? I think this is a good question - tansytansey - 04-26-2010 Either that, or the pvp advantages it would give some ships would require a hell of a lot of balance adjustments to correct. Ships with a square/round forward face wouldn't be effected much by barrell rolling, but verticle ships like the Manta and Hyena or horizontal ships like the Ravens Claw (which also rolls very fast) would gain a lot of advantage from rolling. I don't really think anyone wants to fight an opponent that just rolls constantly, how annoying would that be?
