Actually, they can be usefull. I once kept evading (with some luck) in a short train with Heavy CMs mounted a certain Liberty Rogue for quite a while. Had less luck against a certain Golden C... Freighters with CMs, with some creative flying get almost immune to CDing...
You just need to find a way to evade properly.
I remember Jinx once writing about the catch being to place yourself 90 degrees off the vector the CD missile is flying on, and it should help.
