It takes only a little effort to submit a request for weapons from a faction. If you have a legitimate RP for using such weapons, then it should be no problem. Most official factions aren't total horders when it comes to handing out their tech to people who ask. Though generally there are terms and conditions that go with it.

I don't see why we couldn't make a few purple cells. As long as the faction who controls the guns doesn't mind then whats the problem?

Because having weaponry belonging to a specific faction will cause a stir as to why a Freelancer has come to possess them. Freelancers are supposed to be underpowered, that's a disadvantage of not siding with any factions.

Want more? Get permission from a faction to use their weaponry.
The time you spend complaining could be spent getting that permission, then you wouldn't need to complain.
