But I found it difficult to stay neutral with CR while keeping the allies we have in our friends list. I'll put CR in "neutral" for the moment and see if it can work.

Move the Zoners down to neutral, and consider doing the same with those other groups. You don't get to just say you're friendly, you have to talk to them, and work with them. And Zoners would be neutral regardless.

There aren't enough smuggling groups in Discovery. Smuggle though Rheinland, I need more things to shoot at :laugh:
On a more serious note: Faction diplomacy lists don't necessarily have to reflect what other groups think about you, but your attitude towards them. It may be very much possible that your attitude is friendly towards the Corsairs, but they pirate/shoot you never the less.
Its also possible that you are hostile towards the Order, but they don't care about it and regard you as neutral and only act in self defense when they meet you.
Its also pretty arrogant from some people to thing that you have to talk to official factions to become friendly with the NPC faction.
If I start a USI faction, do I have to beg on the Forum to become friendly with the LPI and Liberty Navy?
I say go for it, don't get distracted by any negative comments, get some ingame activity and interact with people, then you also can expect more feedback.
Also: In this community, no feedback usually is positive feedback.

I beta tested this diplomacy ingame, it works. As for the "talk to official factions", that's just pure RP awesomeness.
