Eppy's Pet Project - Unseelie - 10-04-2007 no. I'm still objecting here. ageless robot, no, but, you could have a fnordette style computer program.... but, again, a phycohistory program doesn't take the forfront, it hides in the background.... so, any manipulation you would do would not be in the form of bringing a huge fleet to leeds...more like handing the Queen's researchers designs for better guns.... Eppy's Pet Project - Malaclypse 666 - 10-04-2007 I'm torn. I suppose I should make a tiny protective hand gesture for my "turf" here. I got sci fi. I got robots. I got cycle of history thingies. I got ancient sworn enemas from old Terra.. I got... things to do and hides to buy. And, no, Willow ain't invited to poop on my party platter again.. Wait.. that was Harley's platter, and she invited you. Meh. Still on the fence, Mal Eppy's Pet Project - Eppy - 10-04-2007 Remember, Rockwood is dying, and he is a military man. The easiest wayto restore the balance of power is to throw your lot in with the losing team and beat back the bad pplz. He wants results, and he wants them fast. Besides, the Queen's researchers already have the Foundation's gun/ship design and such, and the Foundation fleet isn't just about keeping Bretonia back up, its first priority is getting Malta back as a full house, hence the Corsair killing (hell, they're so disorganized it's virtually impossible to take them by subterfuge anyway), and slaughtering the Nomads, which can't be done with subterfuge because Nomads are pretty much an unknown quantity. Anybody else have something wrong? Eppy's Pet Project - Unseelie - 10-04-2007 wait....where did the fleet come from? earth? or, who built it? and.....malta is a full house...its a superhouse. its Arrakis man....it rules like 40% of the crime in Siruis, and then it infects governments.... I think you might have more of a problem there, than with the kusari/bretonia war....its really not going anywhere....and, must I mention, the war is a war over the Taus? how much more are the emperor's dogs gonna take? sides....doing things fast is sorta counter to phycohistory...that stuff takes forever, oh, and might I mention, that Sirius only has 200 million people, which is way less than enough for phycohistory to work....it took....trillions, I believe...an entire Galaxy, and an entire planet to do the math...... Eppy's Pet Project - Malaclypse 666 - 10-04-2007 This is a smashing debate! I'll just set back and let our Honorary Popess deal with it... Carry on! Mal Eppy's Pet Project - Unseelie - 10-04-2007 Another Problem I have....
why is he alive? been popping in and out of stasis, huh? or, is he another superchar... //grumbles at Mariko..... Eppy's Pet Project - Sonja - 10-04-2007 "But mama!! Mariko-san is always there for you mama!!" When i make a character, i make it have a weakness all the time. Whether its normal or super. (Now, on topic.) How did he stay alive, even though he's dieing? Cardimine is powerful, but it isn't that powerful. Also, in the intro video, it really looked like the nomads had a lot more where that solar object killing battleship came from. I am not particularly fond of stories that revolve around the history of freelancer itself, as there are always many different versions, contradicting each other. However, reading your article, it looks like you made a fine effort with it. I just can't figure out how it would come together. Eppy's Pet Project - Eppy - 10-04-2007 Rockwood was ready to die at the point when the first invasion in 150 AS came; he was only 23 when he showed the Nomad superweapon his tail. Cardamine is proven to make people last over three hundred years, a hundred and seventy isn't much, even before all the medical tech came back. Rockwood isn't like Luciaden or Darkstar, because he doesn't have active control of his powers (and even if he did, Lucy could probably have cracked him in half, though with some effort), and he's on his second deathbed; his new Nomad physique gave him another six hundred years. In a relative year, what conscious of his is left in that Nomad Dreadnought he took over will have died off and been reduced to slightly more than 'Just Another Nomad Superior Brain', with different alignments. All the uberness will be dead; I'm not looking to powerplay here. If memory serves, the population of Manhattan alone is 200 million; there should probably be about four times that, all said and told. Either way, while it isn't as accurate, 200 million should be enough for a general Psychohistoric analysis. As much as I love Dune, Mister Blue-faced Uber-Wyrm will not be making any appearances. Now that would be powerplaying. Also, this fleet isn't such a mystery. Foundation only has three battleships maximum (not including the Rockwood, which, because the things are such a pain to move around, I only intend to use when I need to make a veeery big statement), the Asimov, Hardin, and Gendibal (and I doubt I'll license out the Gendibal unless I find someone veeeeery good in a battleship and a veeery good reason, so, effectively two). THe flagship is an Outcast Dreadnought, I plan on the Hardin to be an Outcast Assault Battleship (that green thing that looked like a sword I made a while back, so it'll be a while before you see it) and the Gendibal would be my Spyglass II, which also isn't in the mod yet. Foundation is almost an extension of Malta, so there's the flagship and the Hardin, and the Gendibal I intended to have been developed for the Hackers with the help of the Foundationeers. Six cruisers at most, and I intend for those to be well-regulated, too, so you probably won't see much of those for a while. The only one I actually know will be built is the Arkady Darrell. And I know, the history of Freelancer is...garbled, but I tried to make it fit best I could. I tried to be general. Eppy's Pet Project - Dopamino - 10-04-2007 I don't really get the point, and there isn't enough space in the FL universe. I love the story though! Eppy's Pet Project - Unseelie - 10-04-2007 umm....Manhattan has 2million. all of Sirius doesn't have 200 million. and, you need trillions, strictly speaking from foundation.... |
