Really really really strange problem... - Korrd - 10-16-2007 8mb of vram is not enough. I think FL requires a 32mb one. I know its playable with a 32mb card, as i begun to play FL with an old TNT2 32MB PCI. Really really really strange problem... - galaktik - 10-16-2007 Well if u will pay post prises i will send u:) but for that u buy yourself new one;) Really really really strange problem... - Ximen_Benitez - 10-16-2007 Do you know how much it costs to Ship and how much it costs to buy a new one? Really really really strange problem... - uspatriotsf - 10-16-2007 8MB? What brand did you say it was? Sounds like a Comodore 64 from 1987. It might not be the easiest thing to change that chipset. Expecially in an older system, it is most likely integrated and was not made to be upgraded. It can be done, but you gotta know what your doing. Really really really strange problem... - Ximen_Benitez - 10-16-2007 It's not that old! :P It's a 60gig DVD WiFi laptop... It has a bunch of slots on the bottom I can open. Is one of those the G Card? I'll post a screenie of the card info so you know for sure. Hold on. I'm in school right now on my laptop... the teacher is coming. I'll post later, cya. EDIT: Here's screenie: ![]() Really really really strange problem... - onca - 10-16-2007 The graphics chipset isn't that bad... ATI, and it is AGP (albeit 2x). If you look in the BIOS you may be able to increase the amount of video RAM available, if it's the shared RAM type, which most laptops are. Really really really strange problem... - Ximen_Benitez - 10-16-2007 Look in the Bios? Isn't that the thing if you press F2 at startup or something? I know how to get there, but I don't know how to do more video ram.. I'll look around. Really really really strange problem... - Ximen_Benitez - 10-17-2007 I can't find where in Bios to add more v-ram.. anybody know how? Really really really strange problem... - BestFlyerHere - 10-17-2007 I have the same problem, and Dboy, no matter how many times you've said this, it has nothing to do with Vista. I have an Intel Chipset 945GM, and the issue's called text corruption. It bounces all over the screen, doesn't stay in the boxes, generally makes the game unplayable. I fixed the issue by rolling back my driver, and adding a few changes to the freelancer video compatibility ini files. But I reformatted, and forgot how to fix it, as it was a year ago. Let me check TLR, a few websites, and get back to you. Really really really strange problem... - Ximen_Benitez - 10-17-2007 Sweet! Any info will be helpful! Thanks |
