Mount And Blade - Caedes - 11-23-2008 I love this game, it is less demanding on my CPU than most other games but it is so much better than most. Also, like Oblivion, there are plenty of modifications you can download so it can never really be boring (for me, personally). Mount And Blade - sn!p3r - 11-24-2008 Heh.. forgot about this thread:D I still play it from time to time, and they changed so many things over the past year, made the game even better. Mount And Blade - Syn316 - 11-24-2008 Yes, Mount & Blade rocks. Nice thread to bring back from the dead. The last year has seen major improvements and even a commercial release. You can still get it from the developers site. But I think they rushed it. went from an Indy game, to getting a (producer? supplier? someone who pays them? Whatever it is called) Then next thing you know comercial release. If it wasn't for the modding community M&B would crash and burn. Most of their added features were things modders did, and then were added in the next beta. Great for that quick fix of action and killing. But a sandbox game is only soo good. Expect modders to fill in the "story" at some point. I have a wild west conversion in the works for M&B, hopefully will be half decent when it gets released. Or hopefully the creators "patch" it in the near future. Now I want to go check out the mod community to see what has happened in the last month. Mount And Blade - thierry007 - 11-25-2008 Im playing this fa week or 2 now.. its aGreat game... finally some good game without magic :) Mount And Blade - Kuraine - 11-26-2008 What are the specs for this game anyway, and do you have to pay to get the full version or something? I need something new to occupy my time while i'm not admining, sleeping, eating, working, or just generally doing 4.85 stuff XD Mount And Blade - Korrd - 11-26-2008 I stumbled upon the game by chance, and I have to say that it's a fine game. first one I've ever seen that allows for true mounted combat, and the only one so far where the horse moves like a horse instead of a... weird... um... massless block painted like a horse (take TES IV Oblivion as an example of bad "horse dynamics"). So far it's quite good. I like the fact that unlike 99.9...% of the games of the same genre, there is neither unbalanced magic nor weird, fantastical stuff on it. On the other side, the pathfinding algorithm could be vastly improved. My party was beaten to dust at a siege during my last match because all the bots tried to reach the top of a tower through a very narrow ladder. They all ended up stuck on it, and unable to move. The defenders then picked my men one by one with their arrows, then focused on me:unsure:. And, it being a ~30v1 battle, well... you get the idea. It ain't freelancer _ Mount And Blade - Syn316 - 11-27-2008 Hehe, Korrd that has happened to us all (well us who play M&B). I beleive there are a few mods being created (or have been, can't remember) that actually give you the option to "batter down the gate". that will hopefully fix the 1 ladder bottleneck. The AI pathfinding is a bit messed up at times, But like you said, very well balanced. Did you mention fun? I think you did, or it was implyed. @Kuraine Very low requirements, can't remember them offhand. but if you upgraded or bought your computer in the last 6-8 years, you should be ok. works on vista also. You can play to a certain character level in the demo. 6 I think. to continue to play after lvl 6 you need the full game. The demo is the full game, just with the level restriction. Mount And Blade - teschy - 11-27-2008 I've only heard about this game on a the twcenter.net forum, and made these two signatures for some buddies there. ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, they need some cleaning - I made them a while back and haven't bothered, as that forum theme was covering it up :P Mount And Blade - JakeSG - 11-27-2008 Well, I won in a 15 v 2 battle. Started off with myself and three recruits, they rushed two of them and raped them, while the other managed to kill one and only fell unconscious. The trick, when facing incredible odds, is to keep backing away and take them one at a time. That, or get a horse, a lance, and just charge at anything that breathes. I see where it might get complicated, doing the same thing to a castle. Mount And Blade - Linkus - 11-27-2008 Jump on a horse, get a Bastard sword (Apologies, it's the name of it though) and some armour with a shield too. A relatively fast horse would work but frankly, it isn't needed. Armoured horses are far better for proper combat. Just ride through the enemy lines and slice them up from side to side, they fall like leaves really. I've got an army of 120 marching along with me, all on horseback and I'm training around 40 swadians to be knights. Only issue is that I just broke from my leige with 2 towns and 3 castles. I didn't realise everyone would hate me >.> |
