Decleration of Concept and Intent - Eppy - 11-10-2007 Righto, never mind then. Also, AoM, you don't mine Plutonium, you have to breed it in specially designed nuclear reactors:P Decleration of Concept and Intent - RingoW - 11-10-2007 OOOps:$ Have forgotten the realistic science of Freelancer. So they mine uran ore and are producing their own MOX. I'm sure we will find something. AoM Decleration of Concept and Intent - Gamazson - 11-10-2007 Well a red background is quite possible. As is a red nebula, but seeing as how this system is sitting smack dab center of the Barrier ice field, logic would dictate that it be a light shade of blue. I don't plan on messing with the background too much. I'll probably cut and paste Manchester for that information. In other mods I have noticed that the developers have combined bits a pieces from other 'planets' and cut and pasted them onto each other. I believe this was done with code. I know FLE wont let me do it, but if I can dig the info up needed, I believe I may be able to combine the city scape from Cadiz or Vogtland, mix in the one from Kyoto for extra buildings and change the background to something dark and outdoors, like Pitsburgh's. If not there is always the fall back plan of using a large pirate asteroid base. Not all moons are round affter all. There is also the possibility that these are 'kit bashed' models. If that is the case, some of you ship wrights may expect to find me knocking on your door if I can dig up how to do this. This is all future planning anyway, and until I get a system together that dosen't crash my FL server, is merely me talking. Examples of what I am talking about. (Crossfire mod) http://www.crossfire.swat-portal.de/screenshots/cf1.6-02.jpg http://www.crossfire.swat-portal.de/screenshots/cf1.6-12.jpg I only make this declaration of intent because I have spent the time since the original idea proposal looking into the various aspects of moding FL. In fact 90% of my reason of posting this was assurance that I see this through, I will have people kicking me in the butt to the finish. As far as free time, I am 20 year old male working one 20-30 hour a week part time job. I have the free time if I choose to apply myself.:) Anyway, I skip that second idea for right now because the more I look at it, the cooler it seems but it is very far flung in terms of execution. I have allot more to learn first. Decleration of Concept and Intent - RingoW - 11-10-2007 Hehe, the first screenshot shall be planet Earth. Yes the good old terra. Second is coalition planet Murmansk, a planet which fills 1/8 of a 200 x 200 system. Me personally think a cityscape would be to much. Just a simple industrial mining surface, like Pitsburgh. A fully developed and settled planet would cause the effect of high ship traffic. So it would be much harder to keep the system and the planet as a secret. An invitation to BHG, bretonian and liberty forces to say hello. AoM Decleration of Concept and Intent - Gamazson - 11-10-2007 All I really want is the cityscape from Vogtland in an outdoors setting. I am hoping all I have to is adjust some code to get that effect. This is what I want...just with an outdoors background. http://i6.tinypic.com/86h6e1h.jpg EDIT: Sorry if this post is now out of context. Logged onto server for 15 min to get this screenie and that turned into 5 hours. Decleration of Concept and Intent - bluntpencil2001 - 11-10-2007 ' Wrote:Second is coalition planet Murmansk, a planet which fills 1/8 of a 200 x 200 system. Ooooh. I am intrigued... care to explain? We could do with Planet Moscow, Planet Beijing, Novgorod Station and the like, actually... Decleration of Concept and Intent - Snip3rNife - 11-10-2007 Sounds like Saturn and Jupiter from WTS World Mod. (In that mod, The Solar System is split into 4 actual systems highlighting Earth, Jupiter, Saturn and "Outer Solar System"). Hey. Is it just me or do I mention WTS all the time? It's not that good, actually.:P If you want me to take some screenshots of those systems, feel free to ask and I'll see if I can be bothered, but basically they're structured around a humongous* gas giant with a few moons (some populated) and bases around it. Saturn also has a giant, awesome looking ring. * (by Freelancer's standards. In reality they're probably about as big as, say, the smallest planets in our real-life Solar System) Decleration of Concept and Intent - Jinx - 11-10-2007 yea, i d like to see systems that are directly connected to each other - like most of the omircrons. you can see the double spiral galaxy thingy from many of those systems - and its quite close in omicron-gamma. makes one feel that the systems are really where they should be - and not just randomly linked to each other. what you could do for sure is - go more into the whole 3 dimensions. that is - not only the pizza box system - but also make more use of the verticals - like the palau icecloud in delta ( the right one ) which is high above the ecliptic. i d also like to see more spa and cruise liners around:D- there are only 2 of them, aren t there? - edinbourgh and sigma-17 ... oh - yea and more minefields - now that we get a miner ID in the next mod version. |
