Lets all stop picking nits and get onto mining. Not everything in real life makes sense; not everything in space has to make exact sense. Decisions are often made out of emotion and necessity, and we don't know the emotion or necessity of the GRN or Council NPCs.

Why not make the Gallic Civilian Fighters capable of getting a Mining Bonus? It's not like there's any kind of incentive to use them otherwise. It would differentiate the Gallics from the Sirians pretty easily, and if only the GMS ID got a benefit from using said ships, Sirian abuse of them wouldn't really exist outside the odd newbie.

The gallic civilian fighter being used as a miner would be pretty cool, but a dedicates gallic mining ship would be better. They don't even need a large one like sirius has, instead they could rely on smaller mining vessels similar to the mafic to extract ore for larger transports to ship directly to processing and storage centers in gallia. Perhaps they could even have a better yeild than sirian ships, due to the need to rapidly extract resources to build their massive fleets. Would also separate gillia form sirius a bit
While we're on the subject of mining... can we have some more mining feilds (not nessecarliy in house administered space) that are economically viable? The Omegas nad Taus are supposed to be full of resources, but only a hand full of systems seem to have anything worth extracting.

That's not a bad suggestion actually considering it can easily mount a mining turret or two. In favor as a temporary suggestion until they get a dedicated miner and heavy miner.

Well, that's okay. If a GMS player faction comes up, they can make a deal with the IMG/CR or something.
