Dublin Treaty Question - Montezuma/Kukulcan - 09-11-2010 ' Wrote:the above is a half-truth, any independent molly attempting to do such will be considered a target not only for the Bretonian authorities which are already cautious even with the ceasefire, but their own molly council will be after them. In that case, can you show me any evidence that anyone in the Molly council has ever said that there are very strict guidelines on how much people can tax. ... I'll save you the time, there are NO guidelines or rules on how much people want to extort/tax/demand, its completely up to every player as they see fit (within reason). And the ceasefire is strained at best (namely as a result of BAF indies attacking Mollies, as they are completely ignorant of the ceasefire), so Mollies are pretty much free to do whatever they feel fits their RP best. RP in general is not very strict, and the Mollies are a very diverse group, so generalising them is very difficult. Dublin Treaty Question - Teek - 09-11-2010 ' Wrote:In that case, can you show me any evidence that anyone in the Molly council has ever said that there are very strict guidelines on how much people can tax. Actually I can. Evidence According to the molly council leadership: System wide license sale announced. Cost is 1 mill. Duration is a few hours. Those that do not pay if found are required to pay 2 mill or any action the molly wants to take is legit. (destruction, increased payment after 2 mill offer is declined, etc) Final option currently is a 4 mill day pass which is a 12 hour pass. Sorry mate, if you want to do something other then that your acting against the Molly council. And they are making a strong effort to work with the BAF so they can get Dublin back. That and as was posted by someone else, in the update the molly's may or may not become semi lawful. Dublin Treaty Question - ProwlerPC - 09-11-2010 Just keep in mind that non-cannon RP cannot be enforced by any of the faction rights. RP enforcement, sure, but no FR5 should come into play if this is not cannon RP. Aside from that, ok got it, a cease fire between BAF and Mollies. I'm a Gaian, btw, so I'll still enjoy meeting either of factions with no effect to my RP. :) Dublin Treaty Question - Montezuma/Kukulcan - 09-11-2010 ' Wrote:Actually I can. That is Molly Separatist policy, so it doesn't have much impact at all on the way indies operate, so yeah, if the MS want to do that, sure, but they cant force anyone else to abide by those principles, and that is what I have been saying. At the moment (subject to change with the new version), indy Mollies can tax/extort miners if they like. Read my above post and you'll know what I mean, there are no rules on how anyone outside of that particular faction operates, and I'll keep my Molly chars doing what I would think they should be doing (i.e. making Dublin not a very safe place to be for anyone that shouldn't be there). Dublin Treaty Question - Teek - 09-11-2010 Your right, you don't have to follow it... Don't expect Molly council players to be nice to you when interacting. Don't expect authorities to not attack you on sight. Don't expect Molly's not to post saying you are acting against them and that the BAF, etc should not consider you to be part of them. Yep, your absolutely correct. You can still pirate/tax all you want in dublin. Course I'm not part of the molly council so have no say of what they do but within rp, the above all seems quite possible. Dublin Treaty Question - Linkus - 09-12-2010 Molly Council is made of 3 clans. Molly Seperatists. Clan Feegle. La Tene. Dublin. Cambridge. Newcastle. La Tene doesn't really care if you tax someone 20 million in Dublin, how does it affect them? If the MS don't complain, La Tene has no reason to either. Same goes for the Feegle clan. Tax as much as you want, the MS may have an issue or two with you but I doubt that too. Best bet is to simply join the MS, we're all a big bunch of indies in the end anyway:) Dublin Treaty Question - qwertypp7 - 09-12-2010 ' Wrote:Actually I can. Actually that is just Molly Separatist policy. And technically the BAF don't approve of it inRP. The mining licence system is actually something that we've sneakily slipped into the ceasefire agreement that means we can keep on making money out of the miners and still maintain the ceasefire. Really it was just a change in pirating tactics that keeps the miners and BAF a little happier and doesn't ruin the ceasefire. We try our best not to hurt the miners and be polite and we help the BAF keep the pirates away. We still get to make plenty of examples of miners though given the average intelligence of Dublin miners. More people still pew pew or try to run while screaming for the authorities than actually pay. Independant Mollys are still free to pirate if they want but they may very well face some inRP consequences for crossing the Separatists. Remember that we control Arrenmore after all, and we are trying quite hard to make sure our word is Molly law in Dublin. Not saying I don't like him or anything, but Hone will soon become a good example of these consequences if he doesn't heed Nick O'Flannigan's warning and stick to the licence system. |
