What's so wrong with using stuff that actually fits into the game? But I guess people feel an overwhelming need to be special, or "better" than their fellow man now a days.

nothing. the base fits. it's a rock (cadiz-ish) with a planetary mining station bar model fixed into it. pluis it has one bs docking point scaffolding (like 2487 bases in the game have). there's only 1 specific feature. that's about it.

Then it's not really a custom base, it's more of a composition of the vanilla base components, which you can see in many bases around Sirius.

Tsk... and here I thought you were planning to add a base shaped like a pirate galley... or a bee.

Custom Bases - Pingu! - 11-03-2010

Well, I think there's nothing wrong with custom bases, built with vanilla base components, there still can be some interesting creations. For example, this thing I made for fun some time ago... It's made with (mostly, except little modified shipyard ring) vanilla components, and it looks pretty cool, at least, in my eyes

RE: Custom Bases - ~BoS~Rengo - 06-28-2019

Not sure how alive this thread is but its what my question is about a player base and customize the look to other models. I dont want to do it on the official server though, I dont even have internet access where i live. I have a private lan server setup for me and my nephew to play on co-op style and we made a base to play out of and i learned how to use notepad to change the core and add modules but everytime I try to change name I see a bunch of numbers and when i tried working with the base type, solar and loadout it just makes the base disappear, file and all. I have to load my backup ans start over. Any advice?

It's from 2010. That's how alive it is... How did you even find this?

What you have to do is turn off your server, open the pob file you want and change the solar arch to the model you want.

For example turn "legacy" into "depot"

Hell this was googles 3rd choice on the subject lol and I tried that but with battleship in different ways, he liked Norfolk shipyard model too but I didnt try typing anything in for that

RE: Custom Bases - Skorak - 06-28-2019

Norfolk is made up from at least three different parts.
