Piracy Rules - Wolfpack98 - 12-27-2005

I think you missed my point.

I treate non-tagged traders as freelancers. My scenario was simply to state if Dab, or Korrd were flying through SF Space, on a trade run, and AW/SF were at war with eachother, i would simply ask where theyr'e going, what cargo they're carrying (and if it's illega, ask them to drop it or i'll open fire) and go from there.

I'd never declare "open season" on a trader, unless they did something ot piss me off ;) (hint, Viper.. LOL)

Transports are largely left alone unless they're carrying contraband, otherwise, they're left alone.

If I am at war.. with say AW...

and Korrd or Dab show up in their freighters and pass through SF space on a trade run, I'd scan them, see where they're going, and let them go on their merry way if they're not carrying anything illegal.

That make sense?

Once again you miss the point.

I'm trying to say, is a clan allowed to intentionaly planned unwarned attacks on enemy trade routes, regardless of what they're carrying - if anything at all, to block their supply lines. Its realistic if its allowed, and encourages use of escorts.

Piracy Rules - Virus - 12-28-2005

Yes. That would be allowed only IF the character your attacking is tagged as an enemy faction or is a publicly known enemy of the faction. In other words, the target has to know you do not like him, but not that you are going to attack him.

I agree with these rules, but it might be a good idea to have these pinned as I'm pretty sure some pirate players haven't read them.

1. Pirates can attack military ships of level 30 and above without warning.

2. Pirates must demand goods and/or money from trader before opening fire.

Igiss, 2 questions -
1. What do you mean by military ship, is this cap ships or House ships?
2. What if I want to just attack a hostile ship, do I have to ask for money first? In some cases I think I'd just rather attack...

uh huh. sometimes if you watch NPC pirates at a disrupted trade lane, they dont aask for money or loot most of the time. they just attack anyway. why cant we do that? or can we?

Based on what was said previously, you can only do that if the person you disrupt is in a clan that you share open hostilities for, else you have to threaten.

What if I don't want to be in a clan? I'm not joining a clan just so I can attack someone.

Piracy Rules - Virus - 01-01-2006

You just have to be openly hostile to them to attack without warning. I.E. a pirate(No faction) can attack a military target, or another target that they are openly hostile to.

Piracy Rules - Dab - 01-01-2006

Yes, but in that case you would have to have [P] or [Pirate] in front of your name.
