The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - McNeo - 12-12-2010 It's about time. I've been wondering when they'd give fallout a break. I hope it gets a new game engine. The idea of playing Oblivion with a different map isn't so appealing. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - podgie_bear - 12-12-2010 ' Wrote:I hope it gets a new game engine. The idea of playing Oblivion with a different map isn't so appealing. I agree, just so long as my setup can run it. Droooooool! But 11 months to wait. :shok: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - BaconSoda - 12-13-2010 I don't care about the engine (though a new one would be nice ), but I really hope this game is more of Morrowind and less of Oblivion. More lore, more talking, more deep stories, fewer voiceovers, fewer big battles, more living world (because no matter how many times someone went to sleep in Oblivion, it still felt completely dead). On another note, I hope Jeremy Soule is doing the soundtrack again. But on the other hand, if the game is empty, no reason to make the Soundtrack too awesome. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - sean24 - 12-13-2010 Awesome news! One problem for me though- I am to assume the ES V will be set in Skyrim- this is slightly dissapointing looking at the map You can see that Skyrim is smaller than Morrowind and Cyrodiil. I do hope they include maybe Hammerfall and High Rock into the game. But eh- map does not look nearly as 'exciting' as Morrowind and Cyrodiil. Perhaps they will change it? The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - BaconSoda - 12-13-2010 Well, we have to remember that Morrowind took place on the island of Vvardenfell, which is about half the size of the Skyrim. It's not the size of the map which is really a problem, but the content on the map. I'd do well enough with a game that only has one city, if every house had its own story to tell and the sewers were a big enough dungeon. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - ivr56 - 12-13-2010 http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/12/12/confirme...ely-new-engine/ Quote:Bethesda Softworks community manager Nick Breckon has confirmed that the next Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim, will use an all new engine. This is contrary to a recent rumour that Bethesda’s next game would still use the Gamebryo engine that powered The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3. Quote:We can now confirm that the TES V: Skyrim engine is all-new. And it looks fantastic. Go Crazy? I should probably go beat Oblivion IV sometime. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Death.RunningVerminator - 12-13-2010 Awesome. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Guest - 12-13-2010 ' Wrote:Not awesome, if so many awesome games come out I always have to save up like sheet... Quit your complaining. I've got to get myself a new computer to play all of them. D: ' Wrote:It's sort of nice when you have a recognizable voice like Max Von Sydow doing your voice-over. Morrowind? It's your friend. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - ophidian - 12-13-2010 Map being small can be fixed by re-scaling it. If it takes 2 hours to walk from one side to the other in the same map, it doesn't matter if it looks smaller in the lore. Daggerfall's map was huge but travelling was very easy with pre-opened auto-travel map. I want a new engine but first of all; - I want a convincing world (no end of the world battle with 10 guys) - I want a living world (only the mods gave this feeling to Oblivion) - I want proper role playing world (Morrowind >>>>> Oblivion) - I want DIFFERENT dungeon designs (Morrowind >>>>> x10 >>>> Oblivion) - I want Assassination, thievery missions (Tribunal > Oblivion > Morrwind >>> Oblivion) - I want changing world like building a city or taking it down (Blood Moon > Oblivion) - I want more than one main quest merging (Daggerfall >> Oblivion) - I want levitation (Daggerfall, Morrowind >>>>> Oblivion) And so and so:D The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - DAnvilFan - 12-13-2010 ' Wrote:I don't care about the engine (though a new one would be nice ), but I really hope this game is more of Morrowind and less of Oblivion. Giant mushrooms, exotic locations, 200ft tall giant insects that transport you from place to place, swampy locations, etc Yes. More of that would be great. Unfortunately, it looks like LOTR look-a-likes may be the prevailing trend. |
