It has the same shape as a CSV, IMO

Not to sound harsh or anything, but this would be one ugly VHF.

I'm done making sleek ships, I hate them. Their so plain and boring.
I design ships in the style I see fit, and I would not ruin this ship by trying to make it look sleek.
That said, it isn't large enough to be a gunboat, it's about as big as the Guardian. Maybe a little longer.

It's supposed to be a mercenary ship, it's rugged, easy to maintain and very utilitarian. I don't want it looking like a tiny stealth fighter, or some other nonsense.

Wouldn't be too hard to upscale it to gunship size would it?

If you can, then I'd say make it either Heimdall replacement or merc gunship.

I love the 'round' cockpit you made there, mate. At first - it looked like a 'CSV' as other may I have said. The general shape is unique, yet more like a 'mean' fighter to play around with. However, what bothers me of it is the shape of the engines - is not round or 'cylindric' which I tend to dislike on ships. Why? The FL engine effects are round itself - keeping a round mesh engine is my advise. Thats my only problem with your work.

Looks lovely, honestly.

EDIT:

I would say something about this:

You will have to go with at least 50% - of your choice - of the Community Ideas. Yes, they can be 'irritating' or 'repeating' critics from others just to gain +1 (no offence to the Community), but they are helpful sometimes.

Flaming back to them will only make matters worst for you and of course the Community itself. Patience is indeed a virtue in these Forums. If you don't like the ideas - ignore them - move on to the other player post and so on. You want to model aye? Well - you have it. Just gotta 'hear/read' people thoughts.:)

Thanks for the advice, luis. I don't think, well I hope no one takes what I wrote as a flame. I'm merely stating my position as to why i'm unwilling to make all the changes presented.

While i like the refreshing design approach and quite frankly, love the design, im not quite so sure if it fits as a very heavy fighter. Dave's suggestion as perhaps a Heimdall replace could work, or perhaps you could just leave it as a mercenary gunship (generic, so all mercs can fly it i guess).

The mesh seems to suggest (at least to me), a slightly heavy build, which is why it being a gunship seems more fitting to me than a VHF. or perhaps a SHF, since it is not too heavy enough to be classed as a bomber, nor is it light enough in my opinion to be a VHF either.

The model reminds me of the orca from the CnC series as well, particularly the orca from CnC 3 tiberium wars, which is quite funny. though perhaps if not a heimdall replace, perhaps a replacement for the SCRA gunship (if the SCRA like it, that is).

however, if this does evolve into a gunship, i would suggest make the winglets on either side of the model slightly thicker, same for any other winglets on the model.
