Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - RingoW - 01-15-2008 @ Creampuff: look at its first sentence. New Berlin and Manhattan is staying there, not Rochester or Kreuzberg. Of course, if he would run to unlawful stations with his unlawful tag, i would love him for.:ylove:, because it would agree to my suggestion i have made in other thread. Don't take this love thing serious. Respectful AoM Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - Tomtomrawr - 01-15-2008 i don't usually smuggle things, but i would say use a civilian transport and i'd say use the trade lanes, but jump out at least 8k from the place where the trade lanes end, because when i had pirate chars, i jumped out early to avoid police at planets/bases, u get around fast, but more risk, i'd say it's worth the risk for the speed. Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - Jinx - 01-15-2008 i don t know - i have smuggled quite a lot - i used a whale, used the tradelanes when available and just acted as if i was a legitimate trader. only one time the lsf stopped me ( right at the minor jumphole in alaska ) aske me to drop my artifacts - i dropped them, they left, i went back, got another load and went to manhatten. well, but that was in x.83 - and new york wasn t RP / pvp of course. since x.84 - i have done a few slaves runs to malta and cardamine back to buffalo. the long route went through most of kusari - and allmost all liberty... i was never stopped. - but the lsf wasn t so ambitious about catching wrongdoers at that time. the only ones that stopped me was a pirate in new tokyo which i convinced that i was doing basicly HIS job by delivering cardamine to liberty, another one, a BD, i could convince that the slave i had for malta would surely include some women for him, too - and the last one was hackers in texas, who stopped me with cardamine... i had a hard job talking them into letting me go .... finally they let me go... the funny end is, while i argued about it, a police NPC patrol scanned me, i missed it totally - and the texas BB opened fire on me, destroying my transport like 500 meters before the mooring fixture. ( well, justice after all ) Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - Joe012 - 01-15-2008 Based on all the feedback I've gotten here, I can see that using a Pirate transport or train would be OORP for smuggling into major systems like NY or NB. I think, based on what I've read here, that I will use a civilian ship, tagged as a trader after all. But which ship to use? What ship has decent armor / cargo? Im not really worried to much about weaponry, as smuggling ships should be (in my opinion) fast and lightly armed. Theres a lot out there to choose from. Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - RingoW - 01-15-2008 The best would be the Firefly, but as i said before. If you go for Rochester or Buffalo instead Manhattan and Kreuzberg instead of NB everything is green for you to use the Pirate Transport and Train with OC or Corsair Tag and ID. You can also use them to land on Manhattan and NB when you have a Junker Tag and ID. This way you would avoid the much discussed Trader/Smuggler ID behavior. Junkers are allowed to dock on every lawful base, even in case of smuggling contraband. Thats what the Junkers are notorious for. Respectful AoM Please avoid to have a OC or Corsair Tag with Trader ID and landing on lawful bases. It may give trouble one day. Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - Fellow Hoodlum - 01-15-2008 How about A Border Worlds Transport, if you want something from a little further off the beaten track ? Hardy beast, and certainly one of the sweeter looking ships. Junker or Zoner IDs and tags get you in and out of most 'sticky' situations. Hoodlum Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - RParade - 01-15-2008 Fly whatever you want. In the real world, drug dealers (comparable to our smugglers) often drive exotic vehicles (well, the successful ones do, anyway) like Hummers with sharp rims and sportscars with loud stereo systems. It's a gluttinous display of wealth, which most greedy people tend to have a calling for. Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - RingoW - 01-15-2008 For Firefly you must be at least unfriendly to bretonian police, while for the BW Train you must be at least unfriendly to GMG. And listen to Fellow Hoodlum first. Respectful AoM Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - Doom - 01-15-2008 I have Pirate transport..and i use it to smuggle from lawful to unlawful bases and stations and i do it in few house systems...currently i have no tag cause junker doesn't suits me for RP reasons. Working on Zoner rep though, although that isn't perfect also... The thing is...when u smuggle why would be OORP to fly pirate trans or train to house systems?..or dock on their bases?...you are smuggler and your goal is to sell without being caught...treat both of those ships like any other transport. Their skin only shows what line of ships they belong... next thing i will hear freelancer in scimitar cant dock on Manhattan... Pirate transport / Train and its usage: - RingoW - 01-15-2008 Freelancer in Scimitar can't dock on Manhattan.:P Because i see them flying Stilettos, Sabres and Civ fighters only. Could not resist. As Doom said the shape and skin means nothing than the line of ships they belong to. Important are TAG and ID. As i said, listen to Fellow Hoodlum first. Respectful AoM |
