Keepers - rhodes - 02-21-2011 I honestly can't say yes or no about free usage of nomad tech. Part of me says yes because I think everyone should be allowed the opportunity to experience nomad RP. If people abuse it then that's what the rules are for. But then again part of me says no way just because the tech is so advanced compared to other tech. Perhaps if the technology was better balanced we could open it up to the public. Keepers - Boss - 02-21-2011 ' Wrote:Perhaps if the technology was better balanced we could open it up to the public. That's the funny thing. Nomad gear is balanced. Now, you might look at the stats and say BS! It's better than X. Very true. However, Nomad equipment is NOT balanced 1:1. It's balanced 1:3 or 1:5, since the overwhelming majority of fights involve massive numbers of opponents. Keepers - rhodes - 02-21-2011 ' Wrote:That's the funny thing.Let me rephrase my statement. Perhaps we could balance the tech so the it could be open to the public since if we did such a thing there would be no need for a 1:3 or 1:5 ratio. Keepers - rhodes - 02-21-2011 ' Wrote:If we did, then what boat does that leave the Keepers in?If we opened the nomad tech to the public, nomads would no longer be as heavily outnumbered. The Keepers would be just another official faction like say the LN or the RM. Keepers - Boss - 02-21-2011 But do we really want that? Keepers - Camtheman - 02-21-2011 I didn't apply, but I did make a baby Nomad once and mirrored keeper speak (***Warmth***) RP'ed around New York and such, didnt really get to do much. Flew to the base in Chester, RP'ed a bit with a Keeper Nomad Gunboat, I grouped with him and we talked, yada yada. The next day, I talked to another keeper and he invited me, then started saying "Your not allowed to be in this group if you havent done X and Z and Y" I went to the forums and it seemed like too much bueraccuracy so I quit trying. Keepers - Akura - 02-21-2011 Nomad ID, allows Fighters, Gunboats. Allowed to engage within the Omicrons only, against all foes there. To go anywhere else, they must have Wild/Keepers with them. Full use of tech on those ships. ' Wrote:(***Warmth***) Worst possible thing a Morph can say. Pretty much an instant "no". Keepers - Dusty Lens - 02-21-2011 ' Wrote:That's the funny thing. I'm sure this is somewhat off topic. But how would you characterize your statements of requiring the balance ratios you cited above with Akura's position of the Keepers eschewing combat in the Omicrons in favor of targeting more vulnerable forces? Namely the idea that you require weaponry which can reasonably sustain 1:3 to 1:5 odds for a faction which opts to combat in 1:1 situations? ' Wrote:Nomad ID, allows Fighters, Gunboats. That sounds interesting. Keepers - rhodes - 02-21-2011 ' Wrote:But do we really want that?Like I said....I really dont know. So I guess thats what this thread is for. To find out what the community wants. |
