I rammed a BHG Fighter to death using a Challenger as he tried to get an Outcast to drop a BHG Pilot.

I remember how frustrating the cruise drain thing was at first. Then people learned to adapt and modify the way they do things. Now, I don't even think about it anymore. Although a few adjustments are probably in order, I wonder if this may be something people need to get used to.

My Togo rammed an Osiris at 60% hull and insta-killed it.

The system still needs work. Ye.

But all in all, it is very good, that you can't ram for fun anymore.

Relax, and see the result in a few days or weeks.

FIX RAMMING!

Yeah! But i like it!

Of course. When it comes to flying a bomber and attacking cap-ships or traders I totally agree with you.
However, some thinge can't be avoided. The usual fighter vs fighter bumping into eachother while fighting, is one of these things. I hope Cannon will find a solution that helps and makes sense.

Its really hilarious actually, Cruise drain got topics like this and polls showing people wanted it dead but nothing happened. I feel you guys are just talking to a wall...

Although I've hadn't had any adverse effects from ramming yet but this is probably due to the fact I dont fly fighters =P...

Does it go by ship mass or what? If it doesn't then...

Collision damage - Akura - 03-10-2011

I think you'll find that after a while, the majority of people warmed up to Cruise Drain and figured that it was better to be away with the rule and keep the Drain.

fighters sould in RP and ooRPly dun make any dmg... they are small... when 2 fighters crash... we can inRP say.. (shields absorb it)

dmg should onle dealt by transports/gbs or bigger

also... instead of x% dmg... the dmg should be depending on the bigger ships hull...

Or, just relax, wait and see.

Cannon will balance it out.

I was wondring...

Cannon, would you tell the formulae you use to calculate the rotation and speed vectors after a collision, and how you calculate the damage? I imagine every ship has a mass and inertia, but do they also have rotation inertia tensor?
