An Idea. To stop smugglers docking right in-front of you. - Stuart.croll - 03-26-2011 ' Wrote:Alright, so basically, I've been more then a little annoyed when Smugglers constantly dock on Manhattan, right in-front of me, and I can't do jack. It's even more silly when I explicitly say that the docking ports have revoked their docking rights and they dock anyone.By all means make smuggling harder but before you do you have to make it more profitable. I know that that would be a two minute fix for the admins. An Idea. When someone abuse it, you have a proof. too much work? i have no clue. only a opinion. on the other side there are in this case more work for the admins with sanction reports? An Idea. Not at all. It saves them time processing fewer FR5's, and sanctions relating to Smugglers, ect, docking on Lawful bases. An Idea. I mean, as a Zoner we use FR5 to remove people's docking rights. With three official factions sometimes FR5s don't jive, so I think there was work on some other way to restrict docking rights. I dunno for sure though. An Idea. Though fixing the prices is not exactly a two minute fix. An Idea. To stop smugglers docking right in-front of you. - ryoken - 03-26-2011 It is a good idea, but not needed. We have the base saying so and so trying to dock. If you already stated docking rights revoked, and he still docks? screen it,and report it. He looses cash/guns,and sometimes more depending on admin, and if first time. A few thing's i dislike though. 1/A known smuggler comes in system(yes Officials too powergame) and before they even spot him they lock the docking rings. Total BS,and it will be abused. 2/ 90% of the time no Officials are on,or not in system. So all the indies are still screwed, and will resort back to screens, and reporting to sanctions. So would have to be for ALL ID'd players. So i would make it Guard ID only,so only though with full rep can do it. 3/ There pretty much is no reason to smuggle now,it makes less per hour(almost 50% less) then legal trading, because of all the time it takes to avoid being spotted. If you notice, however, I said you have to TARGET the person, which means you have to be within 10k of him. 2 Well, lets hope the indies don't muck this up during the trial period then. And no to the Guard ID. It's just a pain in the behind to get. 3 People shouldn't be smuggling to the Capital of a House with Police in orbit, now should they? Though, I agree. An increase in Contraband prices is a good idea. Especially since it's MUCH riskier, what with TLAGSNET and now /lock. Better prices, riskier. Smugglers will have to avoid the Lanes, and use Trade Lanes. They'll also need to be MUCH more careful when coming into orbit around a planet. Indeed, it might be best for them just to deliver to Rochester or Buffalo. Quote:If you already stated docking rights revoked, and he still docks? screen it,and report it. With this in place, it saves time for the Admins that can be used for more important things. Do you know how many people I've had do this since I joined the LPI not even a week ago? More then ten. That's a lot of work, and that's just me personally. I can't say how much this has happened to other people. |
