The thing with a Rogue/Molly Cruiser is that it's a frontal assault ship, not designed for point defense. (Despite it's infocard and lore depicting that it should be the opposite.)

The ship has two major blind spots, above and behind the ship. It only has three turrets on the top, and only one that fires backwards. It also has rather limited arcs to port and starboard. However, all but one of the turrets are capeable to firing forward (although two of them will only fire forward and the right angle)

The Rogue Cruiser isn't made to run away and shoot, it's made to charge in head long and smash the ever loving crap out of it's opponents. Solaris are self-defeating, and the only strategy I've found that works for using solaris is barrel rolling to hide your blind spots from the enemy bombers.

Because of the Scylla's arcs, it works better flying like a larger Gunboat than a Cruiser. Abusing quick turning and forcing your opponent to joust you is a good way to fight one versus one. Against a battleship you definitely want a Light Mortar on the rear firing turret, but for anti-fighter a Battlerazor works better there.

Scylla is a great destroyer because it fights aggressively, most other cruisers seem to fight defensively. It's much like the Kusari Destroyer, except it's not the size of a Gunboat.

Cruiser sollies suck on anything. I've soloed solie Vidars before. Hard to do, but not impossible. Someone of my mediocre skill doing crazy crap that that should speak for itself.

Cruiser solaris is useless.

(this comes from a person who tried flying solie RM cruiser for a YEAR before finally giving up and switching to primaries)

Meh, I might switch back to Primaries, although I have to move around some slots.

When I bought the ship, it was 6 primaries, 2 LM's and 4 Pulses.
I dont like all the primaries being forward shooting, its too slow... I might replace 2 pulses with 2 razors instead, to better clobber fighters...

Yeah, That's what ill do.

You're soooo good

' Wrote:The Scylla is never going to be good against fighters, not with it's current model and statistics.

It is meant to take out capital ships, that are equal or larger.

BS Solaris are good on smaller BS. Cruiser Solaris are an old, stale joke which makes bomber pilots smirk as they shoot you down.
Pretty much that.

Personally, I would just go with Primaries, 1 LM and 2 Razors.

I didnt read first post but ill say this:

cruiser solaris - obsolete

if outcast: Use Destroyer turrets (3.03)
if Kusari: Use Cruiser secondary turrets (3.03)

If ally with outcasts or kusari ask for one of them for such turrets (most likely youll be denied)

If you cannot get those 3.03 turrets, LEARN TO CHAINFIRE THE MAIN TURRETS.

thats all you need to know about cruiser guns.

untill cruiser razor range and speed is buffed - dont bother with it

Then why did you even bother posting? Because what you said below had nothing to do with the question he was asking.

Mount five solies on your bottom mounts, two BRs on the sides, two mortars on the front(or a mortar and a pulse), a mortar on the rear, and two missiles.
YOu'll bitchslap anything larger than a bomber, and if you practice enough, you can manage to two shot any bomber that makes a mistake and flys in front of you.
A good strategy is to wait until they fly past you, then go to turret mode, thrust forward, angle down and shoot back with your solies.

Dont bother wirh cruiser solaris. they fail. hard.

can only slightly dent a bomber when you have 6-8 or so on an agile dessie.
