Declaring Combat - Xing - 02-04-2008 yes, you can do nice rp stuffs in game, when being pirated or pirate. thats the only time I actually did some mini rp. rp when about to pvp? sorry, but you will say one line, and as mentionned above, is rather unrealisitc. Our actual pilots don't communicate with their enemies, even for a taunt. They just engage, and kill. When you pvp, you want to win, even if its called rp server. Declaring Combat - pchwang - 02-04-2008 Of course I've heard of radio silence. But when your char's name pops up on the radar when he/she is 10k away, that would be a good time to announce combat. After all, if the other guy's radar HUD is open, and he's not blind, he already knows you're close by. Declaring Combat - Xing - 02-04-2008 then on realism issue, a pirate could indeed shout some yell to his oponent. They technically aren't very disciplined people. I seriously doubt the house faction pilots would be allowed by their officiers to shout anything at their oponents. And they won't give a warning about leaving, their objective is to annhilate the enemy at once. hence why I say only on confusing situations it must be used: mercs, kos, etc. on practical issue, already enough said from me. Declaring Combat - bluntpencil2001 - 02-04-2008 Nobody expects the <strike>Spanish Inquisition</strike> Coalition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to <strike>the Pope</strike> the people, and nice red uniforms! Ahem. Declaring Combat - Xing - 02-04-2008 wait. how did the coalition hippies acted already? (which means, everyone minus Bai and Xing? XD) Declaring Combat - pchwang - 02-04-2008 2 things established. 1) Combat should not always be announced, such as during military operations. 2) It should be announced in other situations. Regarding (1), They pick you up on scanners long before you get there. If you are planning to RP, I'd say announce it. If you are at war, other situations apply. Declaring Combat - Xing - 02-04-2008 hum, KNF vs BAF. they insult each other in their respective language before engaging? I know the KNF should be disciplined people living by honor and blabla. Probably wouldn't chatter. BAF, don't know. the thing is that, if you announce yourself if you are military. what will you say exactly to your foe? Declaring Combat - Dopamino - 02-04-2008 What about if you undock from a base and find an enemy pilot killing NPCs of your faction? or If your RP is as an assassin? You wouldn't really want to announce yourself, would you? As always, there seems to be a grey area for the mercs. Declaring Combat - Zelot - 02-04-2008 6.19 Pirates and terrorists have a right to deal as much damage as they see fit before or after demanding money from a trader ship, but killing trader ship before demanding money is not allowed. Attacking traders or demanding cargo is not allowed for cruisers and battleships, unless cruisers and battleship belong to Terrorist ID or Phantom ID owner. nuff said Declaring Combat - Dab - 02-04-2008 Umm, actually there is no rule that actually says you must warn or make a demand before killing someone except for traders.. So this discussion doesn't have much a need. If there were a rule that said that, I'd be completely against it. Stupid Scenario Outcast: Corsair, I am going to attack you in one minute! Corsair: Okay.. I'll just call in 5 buddies, and shoot you now. Realistic Scenario Outcast: *Shoots the Corsair.* Corsair: *Shoots back.* |
