in doubt - i can delete the winglets in one click ... but i think it would be a loss...
all the GMG ships have those wings... and they WERE requested by the GMG faction ( back then ) - when the HF was made... they wanted these wings, cause the old homeworld ship had them, too ... and they felt that it would give the ship a better agility in nebulas ( as a RP reason )
oh - and the bomber is bigger of course - thats also a point.
heavy bomber the size of a HF much? - no thanks... if its a heavy bomber - i d also size it up to be a heavy bomber.

New model is obviously nicer, but the wings look out of place.
Shorter, angular wings without curves would look cool.

I don't wish to steal your time but if you could post a image with the fins removed I'd love to see it. As for if the GMG faction requested them, I'm not going to argue if they did or didn't because they might have. I just pointed out that I know one of them very recently said he didn't like the wings himself so I was confused.
As for the size, I'd prefer it to remain the same size as the current one. Unless the developers involved with balance say that it should be bigger, that is after all their job.
