Outcast-Order relationships in Vanilla. - Not Espi - 05-27-2011 you must take into consideration taht order in vanilla and order in disco are very, VERY different. the vanilla order were agents infiltrating other groups, not a cap-happy army of zealots 'protecting humanity' as they put it, while attacking navy and the bunters. saying so, i doubt outcasts even knew that cress was an order agent, and believed, that order was anything else than a bunch of terrorists. You're not, it came with Treewyrm, not before. Outcast-Order relationships in Vanilla. - Ayem - 05-27-2011 ' Wrote:You're not, it came with Treewyrm, not before. Sure. Sure. Outcast-Order relationships in Vanilla. - Klaw117 - 05-27-2011 I'm pretty sure the Outcast-worship thing was in vanilla. It's not explicitly in the campaign, but if you read the rumors in Planet Malta's bar, some will refer to the Nomads as "Great Spirits" who are honored by burying the Outcasts' dead around the Omicron-90 Jump Hole with the ships facing the Jump Hole. FYI, there are many conflicts between the campaign lore and Discovery lore, especially regarding the Nomads. Outcast-Order relationships in Vanilla. - n00bl3t - 05-28-2011 ' Wrote:Sure. Sure. I like how this quoted post just mocks another post and does not address some sort of serious logical rebuttal. To avoid falling into the same trap, my post will question what exactly the vanilla infocard on the Outcasts which surround the nomad jumphole/cemetery thing says. The gravyard guardians and so on... Rumours on Malta. But I expect it's a small minority of outcasts who regard nomads as some sort of god-like-thingy. Also, I would expect the Outcasts from vanilla (at the point at which you come into contact with the OC at elast) to be largely ignorant of the blue man group, only having fleeting and vaguely mysterious contact with them around what used to be the Unknown jumphole. Personally, I've always played my OC characters to have a respect for nomads, but not worship them... It's sensible to have respect for bears when you're in their woods. But they're not gods. As for Order/OC relations, I think the main contributing factor to their current hostility is the Order's past alliance with the corsairs. Outcast-Order relationships in Vanilla. - chopper - 05-28-2011 Yes, Joe, but the similar thing was hinted in Corsair rumors, yet somehow they didn't end up with 'respect' towards the Nomads. The whole Cardamine-Keeper connection came with Treewyrm, that's my point. I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just saying it's not the vanilla lore, but disco lore. Treewyrm did a great job in pushing his stories trough, and he set the guidelines for the current Nomad behavior. Those are the known vanilla rumours if I'm not mistaken and if you check the ones on Malta you'll find a few that mention the "alien spirits". Also, back on topic I pretty much agree with this one: ' Wrote:saying so, i doubt outcasts even knew that cress was an order agent, and believed, that order was anything else than a bunch of terrorists. Or it was just a glitch in the storyline when the eastereggs where implemented. |
