In the case of the Molly Council, you have to go through the Rogues to get the tech.
Do you know that for a fact or are you assuming so because they share the same shipline?
I'm talking mainly about weapons here, though ships are of some interest as well.
In addition, what if another case of this were to happen with a different faction, say, the Unioners? (Not to say the official Unioner faction is in danger of losing official status, just as an example) What happens then?
Why would the Mollys tech requests be shifted to the Rogues? I can understand ships, yes, but weapons? Trefoils don't belong to Rogues, at least, to my knowledge.

Indeed, I was trying to find the same statement written by Athenian. It's clear that Athenian is in the exact opposite of DL's statement. Further speculations would be harmful, I think, so a swift, clear admin input is much needed.

Green cells remain green. Pink cells remain pink.
The tech will hardly disappear, it will just move in the direction of puretech for that faction.

Believe me, I know the reality of our existing permissions as the list of chars being actually used continues to shrink. I'm ok with the puretech idea, though. And while I feel sorry for what will happen to the generic ID's I'm also not one to believe any but the Freelancer one should be existing.

If no official faction represents the NPC group who possesses the technology it may be used in the same fashion as the previous system: Namely by virtue of self governance and forum established fiction.
This is not at odds with my statement.
If a faction vanishes, its previous agreements (forum established fiction) and cell status (self governance) stand. That at least is what I think DL meant.
So there are no Mollies, but their tech is white for you. So any agreements they made before remain. New agreements are impossible until the faction slot is filled. Call it a period of restructuring if you want. I imagine it would be hard to re-establish a faction if people could access its technology on other IDs without asking anyone.
So, Mollies
Check previous agreements made by the faction, they will stand
Ships (the ones explicitly stated as being LR/Molly) - LR for now
Guns (the ones explicitly called Molly) - red cell for everyone unless you are a Molly.

What I don't understand is why the tech would simply have to be red to everyone before a new official faction popped up. Why not an unofficial faction to distribute the tech? I mean, it's better than being "green to everyone" don't you think? And if a certain faction's tech is red because there's no official faction to distribute it, then how the heck long must one wait for an official group to show?
It could be weeks or even months before a new official faction comes together. Am I being told I must wait that long before I can obtain one single gosh darn weapon?

I'm sure if you stole one no one would notice. And in the rare case where someone did, they'd probably not bother reporting you. Or mayeb they would.
The last thing we need is people making factions just to hand out guns. :$
