This.

Aliens do not quote shakespear, tell you their life stories, discuss the workings of human society or why the toast always lands butterside down.

They're aliens. Nomads gonna nom.

People say they want the Nomads to be ruthless, aggressive aliens like in the SP campaign. Then when they do act like Vanilla Nomads, threads like this one spawn.

Well'p, some people just dunno' what they want.

You didn't adress the point that it IS a rp fail (2 one line engagement IS a fail. It's not tactics, but failed minimal rp).

And that the scene could have been epic with the same inevitable outcome, without "tactics". A Zephyr can't stand against a Marduk. There is no need for not rping to not lose the advantage.

You approach it from a pvp point of view, which is - honestly - inadequate for a situation that is so clearly an rp environment! Did the Zephyr fly into your smalls to hunt them? No. I kept it at Hood and only fired if your guys came. I posted that 20 times, so even the blindest player knew that "if I go there, he will Solarize me".

What you did was a pvp apporach to an rp situation.

That is disappointing.
And was uncalled for.
And the way it was done, is failed rp. Simple as that.

What exactly do you expect of an alien race you shoot at ? Just a question.

What do I expect?

Easy: a fire exchange, time to do one sentence of rp on my side, no instant execution in the mid of rp.

More than minimal engagement notice rp, basically.

Lets say there's an aggressive alien species inRL. Do you honestly think it'd wait for you to give them a verbal lecture and be all like (wait), communicate with me before you shoot me into pieces after I shot your little friends ?

QQ at Keeper Marduk - Geeky - 07-27-2011

Well Korny, if you imagine that scene in a movie, it was an incredibly wasted RP scenario. That encounter could have begun with "Ambient" Rp, like, *You see the humongous creature approach you* even that would be better then sliding up to its target and open fire from below.

Anyways, it would have been better if that had happened i think, but alas, it cant be helped what actually happened.

(btw, someone else actually said this, but only i decided to post it)

I'm not 100% certain (and I certainly wasn't there), but I think all he is asking for is a chance to "say" something (which he certainly would have had the chance to do "IRL" over his comm) to the effect of "Oh my god, what is tha---" BOOM!

Just a thought. Remember, as you put it, the ship /would/ uncloak before destroying the Zephyr. Even in that instance the commander of the Zephyr would have had a chance to get at least a little something spoken out loud before being vaporized.

I'm pretty sure that's all he's asking for.

Then again, maybe I am wrong.

*shrugs*

Here's something to consider... Maybe how it could have gone:

Marduk: The immense vessel approaches, its hostile intent palpable.
Zephyr commander: Oh my god.. what is.. Attention all hands, aband- (or prepare to f-)...
Marduk: *emotes his shooty thing and fires all weapons*
Zephyr Commander: *Screams as his ship is vaporized.*

That would be more satisfying from an RP perspective for all involved, don't you think?

Just food for thought.

Keeper RP is no more elite than anyone else. People also shoot Keepers on sight, they're completely entitled to do it back. Suck it up.

Nomads killed humans.

Jack Henderson had to dock for four hours.

... That's all I see here.
