Don't die? And it's not like you should just change character and stay in same system after you die.

Big is not good for pretty much anything else. Limits interaction and makes getting from A to B rather dull.

[Edit] An exception likely should be mining systems. Mining grounds should be away from friendly bases in the middle of nowhere to encourage miners to either hire escort or be faced with a pirate problem. Free passes in running to the nearest base and always making it, does not a happy pirate make.

A skilled pirate bomber can take down pretty much any transport that is in the middle of nowhere with a gunboat on his tail

How about repair ship on his tail, then? Or fighter escort? Or escort that warns about incoming pirates and/or engages them buying time for miner? Seriously.

However, yes, i also find it bad that fights in disco last that long, and killing fleeing target is that hard. Remove armor, remove nanobots, grr.

So are you looking for opinion or are you trying to force your opinion on others?

System size - Vladimir - 08-02-2011

Your opinion is not a holy cow not to be touched. I'm looking for opinions in poll, here i'm looking for explanations for opinions and arguments. If somebody manages to "force" his opinion on the other, it means his opinion is right, while the other's one is wrong.

the big systems should have more tradelanes in them, and the size of the planets, suns, bases, etc could be scaled up for realism.

make the systems big, but make the planets correspondingly massive too

Fewer, not less.

Also, I would like to see the entirity of some whole houses combined into a single enourmous system. Do away with system chat entirely, but make local chat far longer range.

[color=#FFFFFF]I was wondering can systems be made with 7 or 8 planets in circular orbits with circular asteroid fields in-between? I mean obviously the planets won't orbit the sun but at least they can be situated in the orbital planes.

Example California. Cali minor is actually close ingame to the sun than LA but it is freezing if we do the standart system model we can put cally way back say the outer system while LA will be in the habitable zone

Aside from the comment about bomber vs miner with escort by BertieNash, don't compare IMGs potential with everybody else. I've seen how you guys were working, and I should say faction with 40 day activity is more of an exception here, then norm. ^^

It's very hard to find an escort, it's even harder to find escort that will kill bomber before you'll get killed. And again, even harder if you're in a timezone with server population barely going above 80. In a system where pirate can approach from different sides, scout isn't that useful. Only way to go is to mine on the edge of the field, but that's also not always possible.

As for the topic - I'd vote No. We're already going to have more systems then maximum allowed number of players on the server (so I heard), it'd be insane to make these systems even bigger.
