Supreme Commander 2 - jxie93 - 08-03-2011 How can you stand a single session which lasts for at least an hour and a half? It's almost as bad as Sins. :/ Supreme Commander 2 - Huhuh - 08-03-2011 ' Wrote:How can you stand a single session which lasts for at least an hour and a half? You're saying you can't win in 20 minutes  Supreme Commander 2 - Hades - 08-03-2011 ' Wrote:How can you stand a single session which lasts for at least an hour and a half? That's not true, and it's not even close to 'as bad' as Sins. Some of the larger Sins maps can take even days to finish. Supreme Commander 2 - Mickk - 08-03-2011 ' Wrote:How can you stand a single session which lasts for at least an hour and a half? Easy. I find that while I'm playing a mission, there is *always* something to be done. I found that building up a solid defense is the way to go, but doing that takes time and resources, *lots* of resources. Then I'd build a heap of long range artillery and let those pound the bad guys to death, while building a bunch of 'Experimentals' of various types, plus a hoard of normal units. Once I'd done that, send the whole lot on their way and wait for the *KABOOM* of the enemy commander to signal the end of the mission. Except for the last mission..... darn flying saucer thing fell on my main defense line and virtually obliterated it. Thank goodness I had a few Megalith II's sitting behind it. They took out the Universal Collossus that was on the heels of that saucer, but it was a close run thing though. Supreme Commander 2 - Ark - 08-05-2011 I liked it, especially for a co-op game. Given the chance, a skirmish CPU will go nuts on you. I've seen volleys of 6-7 nuclear missiles, nevermind the nonstop artillery and waves of experimental units. Oh, and if you have the expansions, beware the Cybran FLYING BATTLESHIP WALKERS. I enjoyed the game for what it was. Oh, and I prefer a long game. Planetside, SupCom, SOASE. Very rewarding to see a long-term plan play out. Short games feel meaningless. "Alright, clear the board. More bland checkers." Supreme Commander 2 - Helo - 08-07-2011 Played SupCom 1. and SC2 demo...It's a bit of a dissapointment for me...It's missing something the first sup com had..:| Supreme Commander 2 - Huhuh - 08-07-2011 ' Wrote:Played SupCom 1. and SC2 demo...It's a bit of a dissapointment for me...It's missing something the first sup com had..:| Complexity is what it's missing. Supreme Commander 2 - Mickk - 08-07-2011 If you want to see something scary with Sup Com: Forged Alliance, get a trainer for it, set up a 2 vs 6 skirmish on a big map I got the trainer by CALIBER, as I got desperate after trying to beat the mission where your re-call gets cut off and then you have to hold off the enemy for 20 minutes, half a dozen or so times and not managing. In the skirmish, AI players on your team get access to the trainer cheats. If you have 'insta-build' on, which is all I used, the 'friendly' AI goes kinda nuts. Essentially you just sit back, go super turtle (immediate access to heavy defenses is win in this scenario) and watch your Ally fry the opposition. I just did this and my Ally took out the other SIX commanders in a little under 10 minutes, something that would have taken me at least an hour and half with the trainer. It kinda blew my mind. FYI, all AI was set to 'random' for enemy type and 'Adaptive' for play type. I ended up with a SERAPHIM Ally! So of course, the AI threw up an 'experimental' Bomber which just wiped the floor with any thing it came up against. Supreme Commander 2 - Tenshu - 08-08-2011 Supreme Commander 2 I really should get back to playing this heh. Co-op in this against a group of hard cpus is intense. I think a friend and I were able to fend off and win against two cheating computers a few times. Weapons of mass destruction turned off mind you. All hail AC-1000 spam.:P The length depends wholly on the players play style I find. My friend turtles and uses artillery to soften his opponent before rushing. This is slow but effective. I tend to mix defense and offense. Try and nip at the enemies production whilst not hurting my own. ...*goes to play* Supreme Commander 2 - Tomtomrawr - 08-08-2011 I loath how you have to have the resources to build things now, and can't set things up on the spot and have a ridiculously low mass income like -1800. Also, why aren't there kennels and hives? A big disappointment, if I play any SupCom I'll stick to Forged Alliance, thank you very much. |
