Sorry for the inconveniences, the limit will go back up, but I am still waiting for the replacement of the memory sticks, which unfortunately got delayed. Then I'll be able to overclock the CPU back to 4,4-4,5GHz (where it was stable) and it'll get better.

Patience please, give me just a few more days...

sometimes you want them indie corsairs to attack NY. if any1 is planning to do so, to get some chaps of the server, Nimblewright (the character) is in your service, anything to get them off.

P.S. if I can get online

There ought to be a few server police who just go around blast inactive chars. I'd take it. :-)

Of course that could get out of hand.

Thanks Majkp ... My grief was not with the limitation but with those who just hang out and don't participate.

Majk, it's not your fault.

At any one time at least 20% of server players are skulking around Manhattan. They sit there just shooting the breeze and treating Discovery like a chatroom. Sure there is rudimentary RP going on... and dedicated players like [SA], LPI and =LSF=... but mostly it's just a lot of bludgers and gasbags. The comms window scrolls up so quickly you miss half of the inane blathering, which is a blessing sometimes.

I say we make a new system called "New York II", which is a copy of NY and replaces it in our new universe. We then cut all gates from "NY Classic" except one, and here is where noobs start. They can ponce about all they want, leaving the NY II to dedicated RP'ers.

Either that or give LPI powers to move players on, enact laws against loitering.... "Move along, nothing to see here..."

Sounds good. There have been admins on; I saw Caylith and Hoodlum the other night, and Bulldog has been mostly flying around in his trader this weekend.

hm, but I think SP would be better. Admins could pick some of the trusted veteran players from discovery - or we could make a voting go through the whole comunity to select some SP. and best would be from diferent time zones - say, one in american time zone, another in european.
I suggest we give them the power to kick - but no ban. Ban would of course come down to admins.

when stuff like this happens maby we should 'accidentally' vacate the system of all poliece and military ships for 10 mins and let the unlawfuls have their fun

i shall stop the subject of server police right now.

I agree.
Having a server police has been discussed before, and rejected.

Now, regarding the Idlers, as I like to call them...
There has always been people who idles on lines, or does not RP.
Rules should be created to stop that, as the server gets full pretty quickly. And even if it didn't, having people just floating around and not playing spoils the ambience. So, it is an important problem..
