  • And now the most wonderful truth of all. Traders will almost always try to get back on you for something. The more they care about the money, the more they'll focus on that. It's proven. My "best friend" who I pirated sometimes twice in a roll, that was in a Vigilante ID Shire (long story) is now a proud captain of a Rheinland Military Battleship. So no, you don't need to feel sorry, unless you've been a complete male copulative organ.

Let me guess, with a KNF IFF?

Maybe for you, but what do you think how many people out there can compete with navy gank squad?

Navy will never pay, it is ooRP for them, and if you in some way manage to kill navy ship yall just get yourself a lot of trouble, navies have long memory, forget it, it just ain't worth it.
Renegades have pirated Battleships....

I was promised parrots, I see nothing about parrots here.

I cant even begin to imagine how many there had to be to achieve that, but this is supposed to be guide for regular small time pirates, not ubercool ganksquads of experienced veterans.

This is a good guide. I'd get it pinned in the tutorial section.

Ramming them off the tradelanes if they are waiting for it to come back up also helps. Alltough I'm not sure about ram damage values now.

I too only came for the parrots. I was promised parrots and there are none.

If you had parrots then maybe I'd buy one off you. Could do with a pet.:D

On the note about pirateing Navy/Military/any other form of government faction it really does strongly depend on what you are in, your skill and who you happen to bump into.
I mean I had 2 pirate bombers try to pirate me in my gunboat. I recived minimal damage and 2 blue messages.

I think if this is ment to be a guide for people planning to pirate for the first time I really do think you should strongly advise them against going after anything big too early, its only going to end badly. And you know what some people are like.
They get a half decent ship, see what people say they can do in it, go out expecting to be able to do the same and come back in a box.

I have been seeing a few players being sanctioned due to some arrogant traders running when told to stop, and then shot for running.

A prime example (and this is purely my own personal opinion only) is this here sanction report Sanction Thread

This guy obviously found someone to pirate. Good for him. However it appears to me that this is just another case of a silent piratee, running and ignoring the pirater. And then when he dies, he complains, posts sanction report and some poor bugger gets nailed to a cross for doing what everyone else does: Shooting silent traders. And for the record, he made his demand. "Halt"

This post here, clearly explained by Blood, are the ins and outs of piracy. How can you make a demand when the ignorant sod just sails off and ignores you? You shoot the little prick, that's what. Otherwise they never learn, and you get these lolwuts ruining the point to piracy and thinking it is ok to do this crap.

If I pirate someone, they ignore me and carry on trying to run, then damn flippin' straight I'll vaporise the little sod. Crafty little bastards cry to the Admins, post biased reports and so a poor bugger get's nailed.

I think the proverbial crap has hit the fan, and there is too much leniency on lolwut traders, and too much heavy handedness on pirates. Not one pirate will just sit there and wait for a reply, especially if they are running.

What is the damn point?

I don't give a damn who this pisses off, as I felt the need to have my say as a player of all circles of rp in this game.

btw, Good post Blood! This clearly portrays the best way to deal with such mongrels and I reckon this should be a mandatory guideline!
