Liberty Rogues - Xoria - 03-14-2008 Slipstreams seem out of place, but I don't know what else you might use in their place if you want mid-range LFs. If you can get people to fly Bloodhounds for two solid weeks, good luck to you. I do suggest that every member be required to do this though, not just new recruits. If you are going to expect this of new people coming into the faction, then every single current member should have to do it also. When I included the Dagger requirement in LH, I subjected myself to it also. I have two characters in The Lane Hacker clan specifically so that I have one that has to work up the ranks just like every other member while I also have a character who is the clan leader. The big problem with that is that 2 weeks means different things in different circumstances. 2 weeks for a person who only plays a few hours on the weekends is very different than 2 weeks for someone who plays several hours every day. I suggest throwing out a measurement in days, and instead use a measurement of hours spent on the character. For example, require a screenshot to prove 10 hours of time in the Bloodhound before promotion. That is much more equitable to different players, and it more directly focuses on the point of the requirement. (In The Lane Hackers we only require 5 hours, but most members exceed that by double or more). You might also take a look at the way our LH recruits get their Dagger and their Tag/ID. They do it with no help, and they have to earn the credits for the Dagger by kidnapping BHG and Xeno pilots in their Starflier, plus getting their Rogue rep to neutral in order to land on Buffalo to buy the Dagger. This process is easily modified to fit buying a Bloodhound instead. If you go this route, here's a huge tip : a Starflier without a Stunpulse is useless from any practical standpoint. You need one stunpulse for those regening shields. A big bonus to heeding this advice is that we have tested it with over a dozen attempts now from all our recruits (and I've personally done it several times myself to set up clan ships). It works, it is a challenge, but you have to do it a certain way or forget about it. Also, I heartily approve of the ban on Nomad tech. Please don't give in to pressure regarding that. Liberty Rogues - Reverend Del - 03-14-2008 We've read you post and agree with you, no 10 mil strating bonus, it will be a qualifying bonus for gtting to Rogue rank we'll get them sorted properly. There will be NO nomad tech, there is no plausible reason for us to ahve it, none at all. Liberty Rogues - Xoria - 03-14-2008 One more thing I forgot about : Instead of the financial starting bonus, I suggest providing a Mk 8 armor upgrade once the Recruit has his Bloodhound Tagged and ID'd. In The Lane Hackers, you only get this after submitting a bio before your first promotion, and only receive it after you are promoted out of the Dagger. But, since you will be operating in the heart of Liberty, your recruits will be in much more danger than ours are (and nearly every Dagger that has come through our ranks has been capship splashed at least once). That armor upgrade will go a long way to helping those Bloodhounds stay alive. Without it, 2 shots from a transport kills a Bloodhound : the first removes the shields, the second vaporizes it. Without running the numbers, the Mk 8 armor might make the ship survive one hull hit long enough to hit nano regens. Since you want to emphasize RP, you could make the armor for the Bloodhound a gift after the recruit engages in some sort of roleplay : forum posts, in game chat against the authorities, etc. Liberty Rogues - Niezck - 03-14-2008 The Trainees will spend 15 hours in a Bloodhound then a further 24 hours in a Hyena. By the end of it they will have a choice of VHF. They must, however, keep thier original LF character at all times. The 10m is basically a "well done!" and enough money to fully equip a VHF of thier choice. ~Niezck Liberty Rogues - Jwnantze - 03-14-2008 also I would recommend that you allow those that fly a wierwolf to use code names. This is a way compensate for its poor speed and to reward those that choose to RP with the rogue vhf. Liberty Rogues - Niezck - 03-14-2008 After much discussion, me and Del have concluded that a name change is in order. We shall now be LR-NAME for the regular Rogues and LR-NAME-D for the DPL. All existing pilots will be forced to liquidate thier characters and return all goods to the armory (armor, scanners, thrusters, shields, codes etc) and start afresh with this new tag. All pilots will follow the procedure we've described, 15 hours in a Bloodhound, 24 in a Hyena. We shall also be doing this ourselves. ~Niezck EDIT: This does mean we all go back down to Rookie until we can work back up. Only the two respective flagships are keeping thier ranks. |
