New post just to draw attention to the rather important question I posed if the SP1 screws up Freelancer.

I just installed SP1 and tried Disco. Everything seems to be ok. Phew!

Updated to SP1 yesterday thanks to this thread! So far no problems.

Note: After installing SP1 and seeing "Z"'s repeating like zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz without stopping, before you freak out like I did make sure your Nostromo gamepad is not upside down in a drawer.

That would make me freak out also. Good advice to remove "non-constant" USB devices like mem sticks and game controllers and such.

Booting with USB stick can seriously mess up any installation. Like a collegue of mine installed XP in his laptop while had forgot the USB in place. That seriously played havoc to drive lettering and comp stopped working if the USB stick was not in place.
