RE: Public Service Announcements by the Republic of Liberty - The Republic Of Liberty - 03-29-2014 ![]() Law update; After discussion with representatives of several leading corporations within Liberty, it has been determined that the export of Scrap Metal across our southern border to Rheinland is not beneficial to our interests. Therefore the export of Scrap Metal by ALG is no longer permitted, and the export laws have been updated to reflect this new outlook. Please note that ALG is still permitted to retrieve and haul Scrap Metal to smelters within Liberty space, and that this does not reflect poorly upon their efficient work in removing Toxic Waste from our facilities. - Boris Livingstone, Secretary of State for Internal Affairs
RE: Public Service Announcements by the Republic of Liberty - The Republic Of Liberty - 07-23-2015 ![]() Regarding this transmission; Recently a member of the Liberty Navy Admiralty, specifically Vice Admiral Rachel Baker, sent an open communication throughout Liberty as a means of informing those who may be swayed by the recently-revived efforts of the treasonous Hellfire Legion. Within this communication and the one immediately following, Vice Admiral Baker utilized a number of points defending the effectiveness of the Republic as well as emboldening our Armed Forces and the efforts they put forward to keep everyone safe and free, whilst criticizing the Legion's methods and morality. However, in this manner, we understand that a spot of controversy has arisen regarding her comments surrounding the privatization of our Police, under the company Liberty Police, Incorporated. We would like to make it clear that the comments made earlier this week by Vice Admiral Baker were not indicative of the relationship between the Navy, the Police, and their roles within the Libertonian Government. Furthermore, her office has reported that those comments, while somewhat correctly portraying her opinion on the matter, were too strongly worded for the meaning she was attempting to convey. We'd like to view this matter as a defense of the freedom of speech, a right many of us cherish whilst those in other Houses are not allowed to speak their mind about the government. Baker's comments, while perhaps not appropriate for a public forum such as it was, are those that all citizens are allowed to not only have but share, as a right that our Armed Forces defend every day. The people of Liberty and of the so-called "Commonwealth" should be reminded that the Republic is a nation founded on discourse, understanding, and the rights of the people to see themselves governed as they wish. The tenets of our Republic have built our nation as one of cooperation and democracy; something that the Hellfire Legion and its puppet government wishes to break. The Hellfire preach a message of nonviolence and nationalism, but the only evidence they've shown is the thoughtless murder of our mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles . . . all those who pledged their lives to the Republic of Liberty, those servicemen and servicewomen who pledged to defend the Republic against all threats, foreign and domestic. This so-called "Commonwealth" speaks from a moral high ground, when their actions clearly show otherwise. They "set out to create a better Liberty", yet the only thing they have set out so far is countless deals with low-life scum like the murderous Xenos they view as friends and partners - the same Xenos that destroy innocent civilian trade vessels every year and are responsible for the deaths of many servicemembers and police officers. And so, we will end this with some food for thought. Do you, the people of Liberty, wish to be governed by the terrorists and scoundrels that make up the Hellfire Legion, the treasonous monsters that will go to any length to achieve their goal, even if it means the deaths of thousands of people? Are the ends - their rather unsubstantiated vision of Liberty - truly justified by such atrocious means? - Edward Owens, Press Secretary for the Republic of Liberty

No traffic may pass into or through Bering without prior authorization from a ranking member of the Primary Liberty Forces ([LN], 5th|, =LSF=, LPI-). Cross-border traffic through the Hudson system remains unaffected. In addition, we have identified a large spike in the trade of refurbished electronics and related material through the Bering embargo, apparently in aid of criminal elements to Liberty. Until we can further investigate the nature of this trade and the specific legality of different components, origins, destinations, etc., all "Refurbished Electronics" shipments are hereby grounded. Ships found carrying the cargo within the House of Liberty may suffer punishments from fines to forced ship impound as per Section One, Article One of the Laws of the Republic of Liberty. - Boris Livingstone, Secretary of State for Internal Affairs
