The problems, is indeed, according to opinions of the many, is that IMG supports Kusari, while I think all they would want for is truce. I would give IMG - Gateway warm relationships.

Call me a purist, but I prefer the original names. I don't see the point of being Gateway Shipping without calling yourself Gateway Shipping. If there already was a Gateway Shipping Clan using that name, then there is a good reason. But until there is, I think the first one ought to be proud and ambitious enough to want to claim it for themselves. If not exactly Gateway, at least something with "Gate" in the title. Otherwise, that is yet another acronym for everyone to have to remember, and for new players to have to learn.
The community does, however, thank you for saving us all from my usual rant about not using symbols at the start of in game call-signs.

Agreed Xoria. I was always wondering why people want to re-make factions RP. Fit to their needs perhaps? I always liked roleplay of original vanilla factions.

Gateway has good relations to ALG (delivering Beryllium and Niob from IMG bases to Dortmund), so there should be no problem in Rheinland.
And since they have a joint venture with IMG, they should be allowed in Kusari to (but not to often).

Yay for no symbol tags, and got to agree with Xoria, why no Gateway in the name? Proud and honourable company, should be a priviledge and an honour to wear that badge. Other than that which, let's face it, is a quibble. Right on! Liking this, liking it a lot.

One other thing, the KNF clan will destroy Gateway tagged and ID'd vessels on sight due to the war. So listing them as merely unfriendly probably is not sufficient. Hostile is probably more appropriate.

To be candid, I went into this trying to put together a Bretonian trading faction that was interesting and hospitable to players. I then went about finding an NPC company to "replace." I see that many probably prefer the reverse, so I'll try to adjust accordingly.
I don't want to lose the backstory, though, so how about "Highland-Gateway, Ltd." (should there be a hyphen?)? The tag would be "HGL" instead of "HTC" (sorry, but no matter what, a new acronym will be necessary - "Gateway" in the tag is just too cumbersome to me). Here, there is clearly the original company, but reframed according to the backstory. (Also, "Ltd." is currently a primarily British designation for companies that have little to know public stock, which also fits the backstory.)
I, too, lean toward a positive relationship with IMG and Rheinland both. I'm not yet convinced that either is inappropriate under present circumstances. As circumstances change, the faction will adjust as needed.
As far as KNF goes, I listed "hostile" as those against whom this faction would automatically be hostile, not those who would be hostile against us. I have no intention of the faction going up against Kusari forces or even corporations in combat, except in self-defense. If a very occasional shipment goes into Kusari space, as a couple people have suggested, intentions would be stated in advance and a Kusari police/naval escort would be requested, as much for our protection as Kusari's. Under those circumstances, Kusari forces qualify (to me) as "unfriendly," not "hostile."
What do you all think?

Wow. Nice proposal you have there, looks good from here.
Although I don't see what's wrong with tagging 'Gateway-', it's only an extra two letters over '[HGL]-' and the like, and is a lot clearer.
Seriously; if I see people flying around tagged 'Bundschuh-' you can fly around tagged 'Gateway-'.

Simple, short, everyone will have a hint what you're about, Xoria will be pleased... You can't go wrong. Even using a tag after the NPC faction you can still name your corporation somewhat differently.

HGL is not too bad, but one would need to know what it means to recognise. Same goes for GS, though. GS asociates with GC to me. I dont know how this can be improved.
