...I dont see why we still try, with Xing here we get no contracts unless were free. even then they see our stuff compared to his an go to him(case and poin Sabas, that someone stole from me). And he wins all the contests too, like he is, obviusly, this one.:(

I'd say Xing's ones are kind of too "washed out", not enough contrast...(not the ships but the whole writing)
if that's what you meant... except for that they are cool.

Nice job Xing. Those 99% convince me that a rectangular insignia is better than the round ones. I like the colors and overall presentation. I would like the ships to be much more clear. The one for Director looks more like a Whale Transport than a Spyglass. The text looks fine to me. It matches the subtle, fading into the background style of our banner, and I like the symbolism of that : The Lane Hackers are hiding in the shadows, looking for the right opportunity to strike.
I'll see what I can do to post the images of the ships. If anyone else can post some of them here, please do. It will be at least 12 hours from the time of this post before I can get them up here.

I was playing a bit with my brushes and accidentaly found the 'stripes'..
I couldn't resist adding them..:)
(For less Whale-ish look I made Director's banner completely different..

Nice job, Clayph.
One suggestion : I'd like all the insignias to have the same overall appearance, so that one of them (in this case, Hacker) does not stand out from the rest like it appears to there. Obviously the ships are actually colored differently in the game, but I think that a uniform look would be a better presentation in this case. So I'd like to see them all "greyed out" or all with some color. I'm not a visual artist, so that is the best explanation I can give about that. I think I'd like to see a "brighter" picture for the other ranks than Hacker. The Hacker one looks best to me, can we see the others with a brighter color scheme?
I think you are giving Xing a run for the money there.
The ultimate decision will be made by a vote of LH members.
If at least 3 different people submit entries, I will throw in a second place prize of 10 million credits for the effort.

Actually I made Trainee and Technician yesterday,
while the rest in the afternoon.. So there's my different mood
reflected on them.. :rolleyes:
Now I have found out that I didn't bother to save .psd version of each picture..
So I can modify some pictures only as images without layers.. :-(
And especially not the Hacker one.. Lane Hacker Gunship picture was
captured in near Mactan, in bright nebula, with it's not very dark skin
it makes the ship look much more brighter... :sleep:
Biggest problem was with the SSing.. For example I took the picture
of Sabre in Omicron Alpha in openSP, so it looks a bit green although
I have tried my best to fix the greenish accent..
I will try to make the rest a bit brighter, but I don't know if I'm going to make it
today. By the way, when does the competition end?

If I may give my look on things over here..
Xing's are fine, but as everyone said, ships need a sharper look instead of blurred one.
And yes, Director's one doesn't look like a spyglass, don't know why..
As for Clayph's, I actually have a bit different opinion then Xoria, though he's the boss.
I don't like the Hacker one.. At all.. It's really too bright and I think Sabre and especially slipstream would look ridiculous if they were bright like that.
I like Trainee very much. It's the best one for my taste.
Also, I'm not so convinced about the stripes thingy.. I don't think Lane Hackers are militaristic enough for that..
It would suit HF better then the LH.
Of course, Xoria leads the main word here, I'm just stating my opinions.
