Yeah, I pretty much know how it feels, I LOVE PVP and don't exactly like RP'ing around, but I simply was getting utterly ROFLPWNED in every single PVP I've ever got into and all I did was barely scratch shields cuz I'm the worst shooter in the server:laugh:even after practicing my aiming was the worse in the whole universe.
What I did was just try stuff around, I've actually spent like 75% of in-game time searching for a ship that fits me, it depends on what you prefer doing, You prefer being fast? being tough? hitting hard for a big amount of time? evading around? Missile spamming? It depends on what fits you most.
In my case no practice worked on my aiming EVER, but then I got missiles, then I started giving out some pwnage:laugh:

The mine/cd trick (cd missile is super fast, changes direction fast, and sets off mines) works wonders too. I only learned that trick a few weeks ago. So now I kill myself 1/3 of the time using mines, but I get my opponent 2/3 of the time when doing this (against inexperienced players mostly, though - I pick my battles wisely:-)).

when i joined the server i raped anyone who tired to kill me, even if it was 2 vs me.
I miss those times.
My advantage was that i played on a PvP only server for ~3 years before i joined disco.
but too much RP ruined my PvP-skill - now I'm a... "below average" pilot Q_Q
just pewpewpew whenever you can, if you play FL regulary you'll get a decent skill soon enough

It's a matter of how much you train here. You can be on the server for 3 years or for just 8 month and you might have the same skillset.
If you train a lot you will get better very fast. Also, be sure to learn from someone, who knows how to properly PvP - 1 hour of training with that one will get you more than 5 hours of plain connecticut.
But first, you gotta die alot, no way around it.
Also, if you notice, that you are definetely not made for a specific type of ship, try a different one. I know a few people who are surely better in transports than in fighters.

Yup, that's true. I survive only a few minutes in a fighter PVP.
Also training in fighters decreases my transport skills for some reason, so I only do it once in a while to keep my ships alive.

When I first started I SUCKED at fighting. Keep it up, PM people after fights and ask for advice.
Conn is a good place to learn the basic tricks. After you have the basics down GET OUT OF LIBERTY, and start to learn while playing your character.
Joining a faction will also help TONS. There are all kinds of players with tips for different ships and weapons.

entered with an eagle full of buckshots in a hessian small group. Sadly nothing in pvp(didnt know Rp stands for what). That was my first days facing some military pvpwhores in dresden. Any way just join outcasts or corsairs. Or Both and just pvp. You may find a lot of Ace Oc fighters to duel and train there as i found zaza nuke mine training.
