The Freelancer universe we play in is pretty large. We're talking billions of people, mammoth amounts of resources and technology that we dream of. I'd imagine there's quite a few ships on the market. Much how original FL didn't let you fly capitals, this is something that Disco can help with. In terms of the ship. The men to talk to about the ship popping into the mod are Aeternus and Lohingren. I would advise not paying the money till the ship gets in the mod. I can't imagine folks trying to be arses but if the modeller doesn't fancy fixing up his model or doing better texturing, you're stuck paying him for work that doesn't meet the mod's standards and so won't go in. When you submit a model, the devs do all the balancing, independent of you, and they can do whatever they want with it, so you could submit a model for a fighter, and they could use it for a... transport? So... is there any point in me comissioning something, if the devs will just do what they want with it? I dont really know how it works. Id like to pay someone 100mill to make a ship. - Doom - 02-10-2012 modeller can do wonders for balancing the ship if it takes into regard how ship will be used and shapes it and size it accordingly. Also, part of ship submission is also its ini file that holds ship stats and that is written by modeller. So initial stats are made by modeller and later balance team changes it as they see fit. If done correctly stats change only slightly. |
