You mean they will be getting more pressure while vessel will be turning up or down?

Jet - r3vange - 03-05-2012

[color=#FFFFFF]Nope they will be in pocket with with "no air" so to speak, thus unable to control the plane. Think of it as the wake a ship creates when moving, if the control surface is in that wake it wouldn't work very well

Jet - Swallow - 03-05-2012

Ahh! Right! Reasonable, reasonable.... thank you good sir, now I see it.

Jet - r3vange - 03-05-2012

[color=#FFFFFF]It can still work like that, though it has to be an all flying tail, meaning the whole thing moving not just the elevators at the back

Jet - Swallow - 03-05-2012

Enlonging the tail could solve airflow problem?

Jet - r3vange - 03-05-2012

[color=#FFFFFF]Just make it all moving like the second example, it's no big deal to be fair but I am a firm supporter of the theory that small details like this make the difference between a cool model and a believable cool model :P

I see. But would it be stable outta there? I mean, on a huge speeds it could be cutted off by a strong airflow... or should there be like 50\50 proportion between the static and moving parts?

Nope, if you look at practically all of today's super sonic fighters they all have, all moving tails

Boeing 727 T-tail - or any plane with a T-tail, actually - has serious issues in a deep stall.

Gives you a graphic illustration of what happens when a plane control surfaces no longer have air moving over them.
