Actually, two. Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - Adam_Spire - 03-22-2012 I want to buy Hodge and Podge., just so I can say their names. Why yes! I own a Hodge and Podge, don't you? Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - AeternusDoleo - 03-22-2012 If there's good roleplay from an existing (official or not) NPC-enabled faction to move/expand onto a particular planet, and it doesn't conflict with the existing factions in the region I'd say its something we could consider from the dev side. In Kansas' case, Liberty has shown an interest in the planet - so a Libertonian faction such as OSC or Synthfoods moving on the planet could happen... but considering the remoteness of the region, pirate raids would be a severe threat. Any such bases would not be player owned, they would become a part of the NPC faction, usable by anyone who can use bases of that faction. But keep in mind that there won't be any "pop, 2 million inhabitants" kind of planets becoming settled. An initial colony settlement should likely be below 50K people. A tenth of that if it's a mining outpost. Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - Echo 7-7 - 03-22-2012 ' Wrote:It would be pretty neat if there was a docking ring styled player base though. That awkward moment when "your" planet has more Docking Rings than somewhere in Gallia. Edit: Aet, how would you feel about a Docking Ring on Planet Guadalajara? It is already inhabited inRP. Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - Slavik - 03-22-2012 Sprague is getting a new one, lots of RP inplace to get it started however those lazy politicians in the house of lords still havent approved the bill Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - Adam_Spire - 03-22-2012 Back to the topic. The Zoners would be the best faction to attempt this as the majority of their faction is geared to colonize a planet. I mean if you want to -own- a planet, you would want people on it too right? What Roleplay reason do you want a planet? Most planets in or near house space are "owned' by factions. In addition, any faction that sees anyone buy a planet will really really want to know why. This is Disco, anything is possible. If you want a planet, here are my suggestions. 1. Dont expect to get one in a day or a week. 2. Get permission to Purchase/study a small part of a planet. 3. Role play with Planetform and the faction that "claims" the planet 4. Update the communications forum about progress. 5. Rinse repeat for a year. Buying/Roleplaying to get a planet - Govedo13 - 03-22-2012 I would be happy if there is a way to build construction ship on the player bases for 4.87/8. So the players would bring a lot of res to the bases and then build barge like slow construction ship to any planet then bam- colonize it - Sins of solar empire style. I know that it is damn difficult but in such cases factions like Planetform wound not be useless and redundant. |
