Mystery Show. Mark Harmon is an NCIS team leader. Has gunfights, had a few fist fights, hilarity, and other stuff that makes it awesome.
Stargate:
SG-1 and Atlantis. Just awesome.
Big Bang Theory:
Pure.
Epic.
Win.

Californication - With David Duchovny. Dirty, bitchy, awesome
Boston Legal - William Shatner as an attorney. More comedy than Drama but so much win.
Dexter - Serial Killer working for the Police, secretly eliminating the bad guys.
Star Trek Deep Space 9 - If Star Trek watch DS 9. Much deeper than the usual Star Trek "we have to stick to the directives" sh.. ah, stuff.
Two and a Half man - Comedy. Awesome with Sheen, awesome but different with Kutcher
Big Bang Theory - Comedy
How i met your Mother - Comedy
King of Queens - Comedy
NCIS - Very interessting show about the investigations from the NCIS. Reasonable Team, interessting cases
Burn Notice - A lot like the A team and Robin Hood. A CIA agent lost his license, teamed up in Miami with 2 old friends. While trying to find out who is responsible for his Burn notice he is working for people with problems. Problems with bad guys
Hawaii five 0 - The remake. When you also like older shows, the original is very good too.
House MD - House is a badass.
Rome - Something historical about Rome and the Julius Ceasar era
Criminal Minds - About a FBI Investigation team. More in the psychology direction than action-packed
Alias - Crazy Double Agent/spy/stunt/pew action show from J.J. Abrams with Jennifer Garner. Action in almost every episode.

I watch some Big Bang Theory , Everybody Loves Raymond and House M.D.
But once in awhile I indulge my inner-child and watch Sonic the Hedgehog SATAM.;)
TV Series - Bakamono - 03-26-2012
True Blood - Some top dollar black comedy as well as gore and rough sex. It also pretty much mirrors Vampire the masquerade, only better. Daring as a naked skater.
These have been said but they are important: like cake.
BSG - you know it makes sense. Include Razor because it's super excellent. and the final thing with cavill - oh my word. It's not a sci-fi - it's a drama that happens to be in space. Your kids won't understand it.
Firefly - good family entertainment, except for whitefall maybe.
Breaking bad - brutally realistic whilst darkly comic and moving. It's an epic piece of writing. not for kiddies.
Sg1 - good family friendly sci-fi.
Farscape - Maybe the most insane sci-fi ever ? maybe. excellent and funny anyway, despite having to overcome the puppet barrier.
Babylon 5 Long, epic scale story, some killer lines. Likeable characters. Family friendly mostly, and has some great details that other sci-fi doesn't.
Special unit - whacky and fun humans vs paranormal threats thing.
30 rock really funny, and probably addictive.
Alias boss j j abrams hot spy thing with tons of emotion, peril, music, outfits, without being lacking like spy girls or whatever.
Dark angelA very 90's sci-fi about genetically engineered soldiers. there's a lot wrong with it: wirework, some naively contrived dialogue, but it also has Jessica alba :)and michael weatherly for the ncis fans.
Studio 60 on the sunset strip Brilliant drama about TV peoples, with some dark bits and black comedy. It was cancelled for reasons that defy the universe.
Garth marengis Dark Place. A ludicrous spoof about a fictional horror writers resurrected show from the 90's. Farcical whilst being genius, takes the mick out of continuity, dubbing, cues, lighting - it is all encompassing.
Buffy. I know I stand fairly alone in my unreasonable love for this show. Think of it as a comedy with recurring drama and you might actually like it. Once more with feeling is the best ep of almost anything.
South park, Family Guy, american dad, Robot chicken, Venture bros, Sealab 2021, Harvey birdman, aqua unit patrol squad 1. all like guaranteed laughs.
I will shut up now.

And why?
Because they are good TV shows. Why else?
