Did you refer to the ship or just the pilot/captain char who fly the ship ?
I have 13 ship but I only have 6 char, its an ideal amount for my available playtime

and too many chars usually doesnt effect RP much . since u can be 5 different people even in real life . so FL no big deal

I really don't understand the reasoning behind this. Personally I like having a few indie chars here and there or at least the option to make one if I come up with an idea I like.
Limitations like this don't really make sense as it wouldn't improve RP it would just increase in ooRP hate or actions against certain groups because you would never be involved with them.
Not to mention if you are in a military faction that's a good chunk of your available ships right there since you'll more than likely need a fighter, bomber, and possibly cap. Plus you would likely need a trader char. So you have a grand total of 2-3 faction/groups you can RP with/as.
I don't see how having many chars hurts roleplay if anything it strengthens it.

Dont think that many chars are affecting anything, but I dont have too many of them.
4 main RP chars: Chronos, Ronaldo Lopez, Dmitry Dubovik and Julia Dorian. IMG trader & miner, 1 Gaian, 1 Farmer, 1 Rouge and 1 Unioner

More chars just means more options when you log in to play. Sometimes i want to chill, so i trade. Sometimes want to be bad and go rob people. Sometimes want to slam people so jump on dread. Why limit what people want to play with? I got 30+ chars, and i have played everyone of them in last week 1 time or another.
