Rules of Engagement - pchwang - 04-22-2008 I've always been a highly stolid supporter of announcing combat, for various reasons. Practical For one thing, you can see someone on the radar(bottom left corner) when they are nearly 10k away. This immediately gives them away, and frankly, it already takes away the element of surprise. Using the radar, someone can also easily anticipate the attack by seeing if you are getting close. Essentially, in FL, there is no such thing as a stealth attack. Thus, there is no point not to announce combat. Roleplaying The more important part... Wouldn't you at least like to have a reason why you are attacking the person, and let them know? Basically, RP is the spice of PvP on this server. Random PvP, if you have noticed here, is long, and often tedious. RP gives it new life, and makes it interesting. Anyways, I hope you and your son have a good time here. Good luck, Godspeed, and remember to RP! |
